We are thrilled to welcome 52 interns to the Gordon Food Service family today! Over the next 12 weeks, this cohort (48 in our Home Office and 4 at the Atlanta Tech Hub) will be diving deep into real-world projects, networking with leadership, and bringing fresh innovation to our teams. 💡

We always promise on-time deliveries, but we didn’t realize that included track and field practice! We’re absolutely loving this video from Delton Kellogg School District of our driver taking a quick break to race the students during his weekly delivery.

It looks like the competition was fierce, but the smiles were even bigger. We’re proud to have drivers who don’t just deliver the food—they deliver the fun, too!

This Earth Day, we’re reflecting on our 128-year journey of caring for the environment and the communities we call home. Stewardship is a shared commitment to leave things better than we found them, and it’s a focus brought to life by the dedication of our people. From our Gordon Green teams working together to reduce energy usage by 8.2% to our distribution centers diverting over 1,300 tons of food waste from landfills, while maintaining safe food donation as a key focus.

Caring for the earth also means caring for one another. Our teams have rallied to donate 565,000 cases of food to North American food banks and spent over 2,600 hours volunteering with Habitat for Humanity to help neighbors find safe places to live. We are equally committed to nurturing the growth of our own people, fostering connection and leadership through programs like the Women in Transportation Mentorship group, which now supports over 80 members across our fleet.

We also strive to help our customers make choices that support their sustainability focus. By providing transparency for over 71,000 products and partnering with more than 25 Markon Local approved farms, we make it easier to support local producers and reduce the distance food travels. Together, through these small and large steps, we are simply doing our part to help deliver a better tomorrow.
