With over 20 years experience as one of the Premiere Berks County, PA Butcher Shops, the decision to shut down our store was not taken lightly, and we truly appreciate all of our customers from throughout the years we've gotten to know and love and will always be thankful for you. But we have decided that we want to focus all of our love, attention and commitment to sharing our love of Meat with the rest of the world, that is why we have decided to focus on e-commerce, and because of that, have narrowed down our vast selection of products, and have decided to dedicate our focus on a select line of our finest Heritage Meats, Premium Cuts, and protein-packed Meat Snacks. They are still inspired by the same Old-World Pennsylvania Dutch style Meatcrafters, and we are excited to embark on this new adventure--but for any of our former clientele who wish we were still around, we have great news! Because we take seriously the practice of the nearly lost craft of Old-World, Heritage butchery, we remain committed to sourcing animals from local, pasture-raised, animal-wellness certified farms. In fact, there is a long history of well-raised animals with generations of local farmers behind them in Pennsylvania. Our animals are humanely raised, grass-fed, and given free-reign to roam in sustainable pastures to live out their best lives. They are not pumped up with antibiotics or hormones and do not exist just for mass-consumption. In essence, they are the best Berks County has to offer. When customers purchase meat from D&H, they are not only purchasing meat they can trust, they are buying a phenomenal product and are able to taste our commitment in every cut and product they buy. And with such a passion for Meatcraft, we are committed to continue to cultivate and hone our efforts on selling a carefully curated, high-quality, selection of cuts made only from the most premium of meats. In addition to our famous steaks and sausages, we are most proud of our line of Beef Jerky and Meat Sticks, called Hex Jerky and Hex Sticks, which are made from the same high-quality beef as the rest of our premium meats.
