Yesterday, the Marion County Farm Bureau Ag in the classroom Coordinator brought a group of teachers out to tour the flower farm!

I gave them a tour of the field, demonstrated how to harvest the flowers, then how to turn those flowers into a market bouquet. I also was able to explain the growth of the flower farm, what I hoped it would look like in the future and how it’s been a fulfilling challenge to grow a specialty crop that is not as common in our area.

Thank you for spending your afternoon with me! 💐

Hear me out. Harvesting these first cuts for drying has me excited for fall wreath workshops!

From my post on Monday, some of you guessed that I was getting a workshop and you are correct!!

A workspace will allow me to host creative workshops when the weather isn’t fit to have them outside. This opens a lot of opportunities to hold MORE workshops! & I am so excited about that.

I will also have a cooler attached which will allow me to stay better organized and have a more appealing pickup location for bouquet subscribers.

& the part I am most excited about? Having the creative space to hang dry flowers, work on flower preservation and store ALL the things that go along with having a flower farm.

I cannot wait to show you the process of the building, once it arrives! (Very soon☺️)

Lots of exciting new changes happening on the farm this summer, but one thing remains the same…

The gorgeous flowers 💐 🌸

I have been keeping 2 BIG secrets and I can’t wait to share them with you!

Hint: if you’ve watched my stories you already know one of them 😉

1. Will allow me to grow MORE flowers

2. Will allow me more space to be creative, host more workshops, & overall stay more organized!

I can’t decide which one I’m more excited about!

Any guesses!? ⬇️

The bucket in my cooler full of “flowers to press later” has been staring at me for a couple of weeks now.

I finally pulled it out yesterday and spent the day pressing and drying the flowers that didn’t “make the cut”.

Which means, workshops are on the horizon!!

Summer schedules are busy and I always question when the best time to host workshops is. Tell me your preference in the comments ⬇️

-Week nights
-Friday/Saturday nights
-Sunday afternoons

What has been happening on the farm? Clean up, weeding, more weeding and more clean up!

Today we pinched the zinnias to help them push up long, strong stems.

Do you pinch your zinnias!?

Monthly subscribers, you’re up!

I can’t resist a moody colored flower (all my houseplants are same purple or black 🤷🏻‍♀️) so these black pincushion flowers were at the top of my must grow list!

Paired with the misty lavender larkspur and shades of blue in the delphinium, wow! This bouquet combination is a show stopper!!

💐This afternoon I will be putting together some wrapped bouquets for pick up tomorrow! I will list these on the website when they are ready 💐
