Yesterday we officially finished here at Bailey Family Farm. Next time these fields see major equipment rolling through will be harvest.

This was certainly a unique year. We were blessed with a stretch of favorable weather early on and were able to get nearly 80% of our crop planted much earlier than what has historically been possible for us. Then the rains came, and the final 20% seemed to stretch on for weeks. Between wet conditions, replanting some acres, and trying to make the best decisions possible, it tested our patience at times—but yesterday we finally crossed the finish line.

Now the focus shifts to scouting fields, spraying, feeding the crop, and doing everything we can to help it reach its potential.

Most of all, we’re thankful for the crew that helps make it happen. Farming takes a team, and we’re blessed with a group of hardworking guys who show up day after day, adapt to changing conditions, and take pride in what they do. We couldn’t do it without them.

Now we pray for favorable weather, healthy crops, and look forward to kicking off wheat harvest very soon. One season is wrapping up, and another is just around the corner.

Today we remember that freedom isn’t free.
Behind every flag waves the sacrifice of brave men and women who gave everything for this country. 🇺🇸

This Memorial Day, we honor the fallen, pray for their families, and never forget the price that was paid for the liberties we enjoy every day.

It’s been a challenge trying to find dry ground lately, but when the crop needs attention, you do what you can, where you can, when you can.

These crops are entering critical growth stages, and giving them the nutrients they need now can make all the difference later on. The mud, rain, and delays may slow us down, but they won’t stop us from pushing forward and taking care of the crop the best we can.

A little side dressing action from today. 🌽💨

Sometimes the day doesn’t go exactly how it’s planned. Early morning rain forced us to shuffle some things around, but that’s farming. You adapt, adjust, and keep moving forward.

Between planting and side dressing today, we were still able to have a very productive and successful day in the field. Grateful for good help, good equipment, and the opportunity to do what we love. 🌱🚜

This time of year, crop scouting is one of the most important jobs on the farm. Every acre matters, and every field can tell a different story.

Sometimes it means muddy boots and long hot days walking fields — but knowing the health of the crop and what it needs is crucial to protecting yield potential.

The last couple weeks of rain have slowed us down some, but overall the crops are looking very good.

Most people see the trucks, tractors, and long hours during planting season… but behind all of it are families, memories, and moments that matter even more.

When we’re not in the field, we’re trying to be present for the people who support us through the crazy seasons of farming. Tonight was one of those special moments.

Keller — who’s usually the one climbing in and out of a tractor cab or helping keep things rolling around the farm — got to trade the work clothes for a different kind of important job tonight: taking his granddaughter to prom in this sweet rig.

Pretty cool reminder that these trucks and machines aren’t just part of the job… they’re part of the memories too.

What a week it’s been! We’re on pace to finish planting earlier than we have in a long time. We’ve had a few delays due to some much needed rain, but we aren’t complaining. In order to stay on track, we had some equipment continually running almost a complete 48 hours. Talk about taking care of business! With last nights rain, it’s time to relax and rest up this weekend so that we can get back at it next week!

We started the week out thinking we’d be sitting on the sidelines a little longer with the expected forecast… and just a few days later, we already have over 1/4 of the crop in the ground. That’s the kind of turnaround that reminds you how fast things can change this time of year.

It’s been long days, a lot of moving parts, and plenty of hustle—but also a lot of fun and excitement doing what we love. More than anything, it’s a reminder that the people you surround yourself with make all the difference. We’ve got an incredible group of guys, and we’re thankful for each one of them. 🌱🚜
