Trio of Saxony available!

We picked up Saxony eggs from the Cascade Spring Poultry Show in Monroe WA this year. They were from the silent auction table, I’m not sure who the breeder was but I’m guessing they’re from decent quality stock.

I was really excited to have Saxony again because they’re beautiful birds! Although, I find myself again wanting to stick to one breed only to ease the workload. They’re approximately 8 weeks old.

Mischief managed! I’ll just throw all the trouble makers in the wagon. Problem solved.

Yummy, Yummy Garlic Scapes!
These are the long flower sprouts that hard-neck garlic sends up from the main stem. Trim them off and grill them for a tasty, seasonal treat 🤤 I hear that you can eat them fresh too but we haven’t tried that yet.

We spent the better part of the last week at the coastline enjoying some much needed time off and family time. The weather was generally cooperative for this early season and we got to spend time in the sand and water, chasing the kids on their bikes and enjoying the campfire.

Now it’s time for us to go back to work and to catch up on farm chores. Shout-out to our farm sitter for tending to the everything, even when she was exhausted from having puppies of her own whelp overnight! Thank you, Jessica! Puppy pics and info on their website, https://featherburry.com/
