We’re looking forward to seeing these beautiful bales of Crystal hops turn into pellets very soon!

This Crystal from Gooding Farms, Inc. is one of our favorite lots of any hop this year. It packs a surprising amount of citrus punch, with backing notes of pineapple, apricot, cherry blossom, green tea, pine, and red berries. Incredible complexity for this noble-esque hop. Perhaps it’ll find its way into a spring-time l***r?

We’re nearing the end of this year’s hop harvest, but there’s still at least one week remaining. Our dock crew is putting in the hard work to take in hop bales from all over the PNW while keeping brewery pellet orders going. These folks are All-Stars, and we’re very lucky to have them on our team!

Our Elani® Hops (YQH-1320 cv.) look stellar in the fields. These bines are packed with cones and consistently provide high yields, which keeps the cost of our proprietary hop low. Aromas are coming along nicely. This weekend, we noted white peach, lemon, and lime zest. As they hang a little longer, they’ll begin to develop tropical fruit aromas and a bit of spice. She’s such a cool hop!

Today, Jessica Riel and her crew at Double 'R' Hop Ranches in the Yakima Valley harvested Field 39, a 33-acre plot of Amarillo hops. This is the second year in a row that we contracted this field, known for its rocky soil that produces intensely fruity and resinous Amarillo.

This lot was a big hit with our brewers over the past year, so we’re excited to run it back. Big thanks to Jessica, Kevin, Keith, and the entire Double R Hop Ranches team for their hospitality and commitment to excellence.

The hot, new, public variety Thora was harvested today at CLS Farms. Thora sports potent notes of stone fruit, passion fruit, guava, melon, and bright citrus, with underlying dankness and resin. It’s a dream hop for West Coast IPAs and West Coast Pilsners!

Developed through a partnership between Hop Quality Group and USDA-ARS, this is a hop created by brewers for brewers. Thora saw a limited release over the past year, but it should be more readily available moving forward due to an increase in acreage. Good timing, too, as Thora will have its own category at the 2027 Great American B**r Festival.

We will have some Thora available for spot purchases beginning this fall. If you’d like to contract it to ensure you don’t miss out, please reach out to your YQH rep or message us through social media.

This year’s hop harvest is officially underway! First to come off the bines is Centennial. We’re always excited to see these bales come through. Our crew is hard at work unloading hundreds of hop bales, and this party continues every day until the first week of October.
