Directions

We are a family owned and operated farming operation. We are now starting to train the fifth generation on the ways of farming and caring for the animals.

The selling of produce started as a fluke with the sheep and wool business. Yes not only do we sell lamb but we also sell 100% wool yarn and other wool items from the sheep we raise (you will have to come to the market to see what we have there). I started out just selling my yarn and wool at the farmers market and farming and gardening with my parents. There was one year we had a bumper crop of pears and I would pick them and take them in for my mother to put up. One day I took another 10 gallons of pears in for my mother to put up and with a butcher knife in her hand she told me “Find some other place to take them, Wayne!!”. So that Saturday I showed up with my wool and pears at the market. Needless to say I went home that day with empty buckets and amazed that they were gone. The next week it was pears and tomatoes… That started a rollercoaster ride that we are still on. We specialize in heirloom vegetables. We use no pesticides in the garden (unless you count the chickens and they can be pests sometimes). The only fertilizer that we use is manure from the sheep pens and chicken houses. We have had the policy from day one that we would not sell anything that we would not eat.

Well summer is refusing to let go!!!!

And I got a nice surprise today and there were a few peaches for me to bring to the box car tomorrow!!! We also have the first of the prune plums!!!! We have new varieties of apples (Jonathan, gala, golden delicious, Luna crisp, John’s gold, and Granny Smith). Along with the grapes the fruit table will be full!!!!

We also have the first of the broccoli, brocollini, and romaine lettuce of the fall plantings.

The tomatoes and peppers are holding strong and we will be roasting peppers again tomorrow

The new plantings of summer squash and cucumbers are also producing well

We will have purple hull peas, green beans and corn tomorrow as well as root veggies and lots of onions and potatoes!!!!

Mom will have her baked goods and lots of home canned goodies for you!!!

Well everyone has been asking. Where are the cantaloupe well the last planting has started!!! We will have them at the produce stand on Saturday. Who knows how long we will be picking as I did not see a lot of melons on the vines but we will have them this week at least!!!

We will also be roasting Chile’s this week. This years Chile roast will only be a few weekends as the production hasn’t been the best!!!

The tables will be full of other okie goodness!!!! Green beans, okra, corn, summer squash, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and more!!!

We still have plenty of onions, potatoes, carrots, and beets

As the season goes on we have more varieties of apples coming in and we still have table grapes and muscadine!!

Mom has home made goodies for you and a wide range of home canned goods!!!!

Well it is August in Oklahoma!!!! And could someone turn the oven off!!!!

Well hot or not we will be at the box car at 1226 w Reno tomorrow (Saturday) from 8:30 to 2:30

We have lots of tomatoes, cucumbers, okra, peppers and corn

We have watermelon, peaches, apples, and grapes

Mom has been baking and has lots of home canned goodies for ya

Well rain today and hot tomorrow!!!! Welcome to bipolar Oklahoma weather!!!!

The watermelon and cantaloupe continue to roll in!!!

We have the first of the grapes (seedless and muscadine)

We have some apples and a few figs!!!!

We have lots of tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, zucchini, and okra

We have carrots, potatoes, and onions

Mom has been busy baking home made goodies and home canned

We have plenty of eggs for ya

Well the much promised cold front has moved through the farm!!!! And it is dropped to 102 with a feel like of 109. Yeah!!!!

Well we have more apples this week(and they are bigger) peaches are back!!!! And there are plenty of watermelon and I thew a few seeeded in, the cantaloupe are looking good and are getting bigger by the week

We have lots of cucumbers , tomatoes (including Cherokee purples) peppers zuchini, okra and more that can be made into salads!!!

We have plenty of potatoes, onions and , carrots. And corn is back in limited quantities!!!!

Mom has been baking up a storm and has lots of homemade treats for ya including some home canned items

Hens are not liking this heat and we have the sprinklers running on their pastures (well part of the pastures) as well as on the pigs!!! Don’t think the well has shut off trying to keep things alive and going!!!

Well it’s goin to be a hot one!!! But I have seen it hotter in Oklahoma!!!

The cantaloupe and watermelon are loving the heat and we have plenty for tomorrow

The tomatoes, squash, zuchini, okra and peppers are holding their own.

We have plenty of potatoes, onions and carrots for you as well!!!

Mom is back and did a full day of baking and did some canning this week as well (ps. It is her quarter century bday today!!!!)

Well cantaloupe are the star of this week!!!! We have plenty of sweet sweet cantaloupe!!!! And we have watermelon as well!!!

Cannot leave out the peaches oh the peaches!!!!

Tomatoes are still going stron as well as the other summer veggies!!!! We have more Okra this week and even some corn (ears are a bit small but it’s tasty !!!!

We have peppers and cucumbers for you as well and potatoes and onions

Well the cantaloupe have decided to show up to the party in a big way!!!!

Tomorrow at the box car at 1226 w Reno from 8:30 to 2:30 we will have lots of cantaloupe and watermelon. Peaches are holding out but don’t know how long. We have white and yellow nectarines as well!!!!

The squash is finally straightening out and we have some nice okra for tomorrow!!!

The peppers are holding their own and the cucumbers are as well.

Tomatoes,tomatoes and more tomatoes it is tomatoe season!!!!

Mom has some home made goodies for ya and lots of home canned goodies!!!!

Already eat that watermelon or cantaloupe or peaches you got last weekend for the 4th?????

Well never fear we will be there with all those goodies and more for your holiday celebrations!!!!

We have corn for the grill!!!

We have wonderful tomatoes for that burger!!!

We have some of mom’s homemade goodies for that last minute treat!!!

Going to be a fruit lovers delight at the box car!!!!!

We will have peaches, white nectarines, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, cantaloupe, and yes watermelon!!!!!

We also will have some of the best tomatoes on the planet!!! We have 3 types of cucumbers, bell peppers, jalapeños, cabbage, brocollini, cauliflower, beets, carrots, sweet potatoes and more!!!!

Still lots of eggs,

And mom has been baking and canning some home goodies for ya!!!!
