May was a busy one!

The beginning of the month was mainly focused on calving with a little irrigating.

This year with the drought we are so limited on the water we have available to grow feed for the livestock!

Then mid month we started branding calves! Branding is a fun time of year where we get to celebrate the growth of baby calves and getting that much closer to summer grass! Also always fun to see our neighbors and catch up.

We put our brand on all our calves that way if they get mixed up with anyone else's cattle we can identify them. The brand we use is a brand that was passed down from Travis's grandfather. Quarter Circle P!

Then after branding we started the process of getting calves to their summer grass spots!

April blurb,

April is when all craziness seems to kick in from a lot of angles!

I spend the first couple weeks of April wrapping up tax returns for some awesome clients. (Interesting note I am not sure I have ever shared online is I went to school to be a tax accountant and prior to getting married worked for a tax firm in Grand Junction. Since starting a family I have built a small tax practice serving primarily start up businesses).

Okay then especially because the weather was so warm we started knocking out spring projects helping us get ahead of things for when the cows start calving and it seems like our days fill up with cow work!

Cows started cranking up calving around the 10th!

Then on top of all of this we have been keeping up on weekly beef deliveries 😍!
