Augustus Ranch

Augustus Ranch Your Personal Rancher™, delivering 100% pasture raised, truly all-natural beef, pork, and chicken to your doorstep. Hence the name Augustus Ranch.

The legacy of Augustus Ranch truly begins in 1890 when Texas native, August Kaspar, son of a Lutheran Missionary from Switzerland, moved to Gonzales County as a young man and found employment as a ranch hand. Eventually, August bought one hundred acres three miles west of Shiner and began raising animals and farming for himself. The story goes, as Texas grew and barbed wire replaced slick wire, Au

gust took the discarded worthless wire and began making baskets with which to carry hay and discarded corn shucks. Well, it wasn't long before his neighbors were buying baskets from him as fast as he could hand twist them under one of his shade trees. By 1898 August Kaspar had created a business that continues to live on well over one hundred years later. His legacy has been passed down for over four generations. His love for the land and an agrarian lifestyle too has been passed on to his great grandson Dennis. The way we see it...August plus us is Augustus. Today, Dennis is still working the land and bringing quality product to market. His passion is to bring you a primitively modern experience, at an affordable price every time you dine.

Around here a trailer attached to a truck is all in a days work and honestly that trailer probably won’t get unhooked for a while as it’s a vital part of moving cattle or horses from one location to another.
