This week we left part of our heart, our very own Sebastian, at college as he starts a new chapter toward a degree in electrical engineering. Many of you have seen him grow up behind the grill and across the store helping mom and dad along the way with many, many tasks of running a small family business. His passionate energy and above all kindness has been a staple of our business throughout our journey 🧡

There could never be enough words to say thank you for the outpouring of well wishes and support our community has shown us. Your messages and in-person high fives and hugs have given our family such strength. Thank you to so many new and old friends who joined us at our grand re-opening 🧡

La Hacienda, located at 1727 Central Park Ave., held a grand reopening by welcoming customers with free refreshments and treats as a way to thank the community that rallied behind the business during one of its most difficult moments.

Our family truly doesn’t have enough words to express our love and gratitude for all the support of our community. Last week we were faced with a tough challenge — seeing our family owned business be the headline of a robbery. Throughout it all, we saw the power of community.

And we want to do everything we can to give thanks right back.

Today, we woke up not knowing how we could put one foot in front of the other. What happened to our small family business is something we wouldn’t want anyone to experience. It shakes you.

But at every single turn, all we continued to see was the outpouring of love. We are filled with immense gratitude for our neighbors, friends, family and countless everyday community members who have checked in and offered encouragement. We may not have all the right words to say right now except — THANK YOU. Your sweet messages for our small family business means the world to us and we hope to continue being apart of this community. 🙏🏼🧡

Special thanks to the incredible Yonkers Police Department for their continued dedication on solving the robbery investigation. Many thanks to Mayor Mike Spano, Councilman John Rubbo, The City of Yonkers Mexican American Yonkers Association for stopping by, offering hugs and a human touch of support as we opened our doors this evening.

Last night, our family business was robbed. We are shaken and heartbroken. However, we are grateful that most importantly our entire family and team members are all OK! We give thanks to the Yonkers Police Department for supporting us and responding quickly as they launch this investigation.

We ask for your thoughts and prayers as our family cleans up and works toward next steps of re-opening.

As many of you know, we are a small family business. We put our heart into everything we do. This business takes endless hours, sweat and hard work. Throughout it all, we are thankful for the support and love of our community and neighbors.

We will keep everyone updated on progress toward re-opening 🙏🏼
