Moving pigs!

Moving some bred gilts and a boar from our home farm to the other sows at the lease farm. Glad I got them on the trailer so easily! Wade Hendricks, this boar is the calmest hog I’ve ever worked with. He’s so easy to Move!

I often wonder if the people who bought this brand new would ever imagine that their trailer would eventually be used to haul water for livestock 😂.

Special thanks to Derek Kinley for this. He gave it to me years ago. Still working great!

Working for mom and dad can be difficult, but Cassidy does it in stride!

We’re trying to clean up and really make our farm look nice. It’s good that the kids seem to be on board with it. Teaching them hard work, dedication, and to be able to appreciate the satisfaction on a job well done!

What a difference it makes when you mow!

Mowing is an integral part of our pasture management. It’s all about timing. I purposely waited to mow here due to the weeds that were present. I like to mow right when thistle starts to flower. The plant is putting all of its energy into seed production, and then we mow it 😂.

We’ve been managing this pasture for 6 years now, and I wish I had pictures of how bad it was when we started. The power of livestock on pasture is really a force for good!

Say cheese little miss piggy!

She’s doing much better! Thanks to those who have messaged us asking about her. She’s improving daily, but still has a bit more recovery time ahead of her.

Thankful for medication and good service from a Vet! We need more of you out there for us smaller farms. WERE COMING BACK AND GROWING!

Not something you see everyday 😂!

Getting ready to mow some pasture in preparation for putting chicks out on pasture!

Yes, off-road diesel is cheaper, but this is quicker for us, and track the amount we spend on fuel, we’re able to write off the fuel expense and subtract the road diesel tax that is removed when using off road diesel.

Special shoutout to Mike and Brittany at Mad Radish Farm. I’m not the best at starting seeds, but they do a fantastic job!

Make sure you follow and support them. Two hardworking farmers growing the best produce we’ve ever had. Let’s hope our zucchini turns out as good as if they grew it!
