Dunkles Bock is ready to drink. Deep color with some garnet hues in the light (sorry you can’t see that). The aroma and flavor is rich and malty with notes of dark caramel and stone fruit.

Dunkles Bock is brewed, fermented, and transferred to the keg. Once it carbs up, it’s sampling time.

Reviewing the Fonio Stout, a collaboration between Guinness and Brooklyn Brewery. I’ll talk only about the Fonio as you should know what a Guinness is. The Fonio was slightly darker but pretty spot on. The head was smaller (no widget in the can) and a bit lighter. The aroma and flavor of the Fonio matched - slightly stronger with a fruity sweetness. The body was a bit more carbonated and “lively”. The ABV was 6.2% compared to the Guinness 4.2%. Not as drinkable (chuggable). Very enjoyable and a nice twist on a classic Irish beer. The “bold and lively” tag on the can is correct. If you get a chance, try it.

Entered a few beers in a competition. Irish Red Ale (28 Good), British Strong Ale (30 Very Good), Scottish Export (40 Excellent), and Belgian Blonde (41 Excellent) with the Belgian taking 3rd place for the category.
