Our farm is open on Sunday from 1-4pm. It’s a great day for a donut and a slushee. We do not charge to shop in our farmstore.
If you plan to do the activities then it is $8/per person ages 2+ which includes petting zoo, bounce house, yard games, hayride, small pumpkin, barrel rides, fiber mill and historic barn tour. It’s a beautiful day to bring the entire family out to visit! ☀️

Princess finished up our lambing season for 2022 with a single ram lamb 🐏 😅
This sweet ewe didn’t want to walk any further back to our extra lambing pens so I brought the lambing pen to her.
After the kids get home from school, I will move her back into a more permanent pen but for now this works just perfectly for both of us. I’m outside doing extra outside work in the yard and am enjoying listening to her gentle mama calls ❤️

This weekend we trying out different cider brands. Our family is going to choose our favorite to use in our delicious apple cider slushees for our customers this fall 🍎🍏
It’s a beautiful morning stop by our farm to visit the milkhouse. I picked a lot of yummy tomatoes and green peppers out of our garden this morning for you to enjoy this weekend. Our eggs are sold out for the weekend due to preorders.
Yesterday Faye welcomed a single ewe lamb 🐑
This little ewe lamb is SPUNKY! She gives her mama a run for her money and me too. We’ve had to “lamb” proof more than once to keep her in the pen with her mama. I just ❤️ her!
I added a sign in the milkhouse fridge for my egg customers. If you preorder your eggs they will be located on the reserved shelf. Hopefully this will help solve any mixups.

Hello ladies! It looks like you are enjoying an afternoon picnic without me 🤷🏼♀️ I actually felt like I crashed their party. They came when called and put themselves back where they belong. These girls are so fun and a little mischievous 🐐
This little hen was enjoying a bucket of leftover grain in our petting zoo.
I hesitate to share these types of things that happen around the farm. Farm life is full of responsibility and stress (at times) when caring for our beloved animals.
Unfortunately, labor and delivery can have complications that are out of my control. This sweet ewe started showing early signs of labor yesterday afternoon. By early evening I knew something just wasn’t right so I put a call in to my local, trusted vet. She recognized right away what was going on and referred us to Purdue Farm Animal Hospital. We immediately loaded her up and took her to West Lafayette. After examination, we were told her twin lambs had passed away. Luckily, the veterinarians were able to give her medications and help assist her in getting the lambs delivered. It wasn’t the outcome we had hoped for but thankfully this ewe is alive and doing well. While she is now retired from our breeding program, she will live a good life at our farm being a pet and enjoying extra attention and treats in our petting zoo.
Please know when you visit our farm, purchase eggs and other farm items, or schedule a field trip that your money goes to maintain our farm, feed our animals well, and make sure that when these instances arrive we drop everything to make sure our animals well being/needs are met.
In our 6 years of lambing a situation like this has never happened to me before, and I hope that this situation doesn’t arise again. However, I am grateful to always be learning more about how to recognize labor/birthing problems and be a better shepherdess and learn more about animal husbandry.
I can’t say enough kind words about our experience at the Farm Animal Hospital. The care that our ewe received was top notch!

Perhaps there is a life lesson to be shared from my little garden. Maybe we need to be the “sunflower” in someone’s life today. Bloom where you are planted🌻
I’m placing an order for Meiss Feeds this week. If you are interested in pricing send me a PM or give me a call. Everything on our farm enjoys Meiss feeds except our horses. They don’t offer an equine feed or I would buy it from them. It’s a great quality feed and a great value!

This Labor Day weekend our family did a lot of fall decorating and extra cleanup around the farm to be ready for “Fall Fun” which begins on September 17th! We will be open every weekend on Saturday’s from 10-4 and Sunday’s from 1-4. Our final day for fall fun will be October 23rd.
It’s not too late to schedule a fall birthday party or field trip to our farm. We still have some dates left but don’t delay 😃

The milkhouse is self-serve. We accept Venmo, PayPal, or cash. It will be open today until dark.

Our youngest son loved practicing in the show arena last night for the first time ever! It was fun to watch him enjoy riding the wonderful Hans from Burton Farms.
Westwind Farm and Fiber is owned by Andrew and Kylee Eller. They are raising their children on a small hobby farm in rural Yorktown Indiana. Their farm specializes in raising Shetland sheep, Kiko goats, New Zealand rabbits, and pastured eggs. They look forward to hosting farm tours and opening a farm store in May 2019.
