Pumpkins and watermelon are starting to become ready.

We tried a couple watermelons and they are pretty good. If you get one of our watermelons and it’s bad just grab another one. Maybe bring back the bad one and the pigs can have it. We just don’t want anyone to be disappointed.

They are all $4, put the money in the pay box at the egg stand.

We are mowing down a “green manure” cover crop and getting ready for planting in the hoop house.

In this video we use a BCS 853 two wheel tractor with a Berta Flail Shredder to shred a hoop house full of Buckwheat cover crop.

We were about as full up on chickens as we will ever be by having 2 sets of 50 meat chickens all at once, two sets of laying hens all at once and then some pet silkie chickens and the pigs so I did a farm tour of the animals. Hope you enjoy.

Preparing a bed to plant Blueberries. There are three varieties of blueberries that grow 6-8 feet tall, produce at 3 times of the year, early, mid and late season. Windbreak + blueberries!

I’m my last post I mentioned that the cold was coming. Here is what we did today to make the cold snap as good as possible for the hens.

We are building enclosures out of hay to keep the laying hens safe from the upcoming cold.

Hi everyone, about eggs and the egg stand....

Tomorrow, Wednesday 2/2/2021 will be a great day to get some eggs if you need some.

Starting thursday the basement drops out of the temperature for about a week.

When that happens it makes it impossible to keep them in the egg stand without freezing and we really can’t even get most of them collected before they freeze.

Ps - we are building hay huts inside their chicken tractors to keep them out of the wind and to keep them a little more warm. The hens will do fine.
