Actual footage of desperate me circa 2019. If knew then what I know now about seed cycling!!

“Guys there must be a magic energy fad diet out there to help me. Kidding... EXCEPT NOT KIDDING cause I’ve been so so SO tired since weaning Naomi 6 weeks ago and feeling reeeal open to ideas.
It’s like my hormones did all the shifting and changing they needed to stop making milk (except I’m still making some milk, don’t tell Naomi) and it threw my body totally off kilter and I can’t seem to get back on track! More iron? Protein? Meditation? Pop music? Headstands? I’m VERY open to hearing what works for you. Except coffee, cause no matter how much I drink at whatever hour, I’m sound asleep against my will by 8:15.
Moms especially, how are you feeding your bod to maintain the energy we need?!”

It might not be weaning for you, it could be ongoing stress or isolation, lack of good sleep, or a spike in nursing from a sick kid. I just wanna get seeds in your hands, with recipes and a little hand holding! I’m shipping the first months seeds and granola this Tuesday, click the link in my bio to opt in 💛💛💛

Seems like eating seeds everyday sounds daunting. To be clear you just eat them once a day! Not every meal or something would like that 🤪 But even still, it’s asking a lot of a busy lady.

Which is why the Seed Support and Granola Kit programs (see previous post!) both include recipes to help you get the seeds in each day, all month long.

Sign up for the pilot by filling out the quick survey linked in our bio, and we’ll getchya on your way to a more mellow cycle (aka less work/parenting/life stress!)

Before I launch into the deets of this pilot, I wanna start with a little review sesh…

Seed cycling is the practice of eating specific seeds daily, according to your cycle (or the moon cycle if you don’t have a current or regular mense). It’s a food based approach to ease the effects of hormone cycles, fluctuations, and excess hormones sequestering in your bod. Elements of the seeds help detox excess hormones (usually too much estrogen sitting around wreaking havoc), and other elements of the seeds assist the body in producing the appropriate hormones your body needs.

All this is to say seed cycling can help alleviate mood swings, like cyclical self doubt, anger, etc., headaches, fatigue, anxiety, cramping, clotting, excessive bleeding, very irregular cycles, and more.

The New Moon Pilot is a 3 month program to help women begin seed cycling:

1. Simply Seeds, $54 for a 3 month subscription ($18/month)

2. Seed Support, $84 for a 3 month subscription ($28/month)

3. Complete with Granola, $138 for a 3 month subscription ($46/month)

Starts at the end of this month! So if you’re down to start mellowing that cycle of yours / hormone whiplash from stress or breastfeeding chaos / knowing your body to plan for or avoid pregnancy, I am so on your team — let’s get started. Fill out the (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSckVRRqnz8m6vm5ys8GTyyYx2d6v1JhzD2Zz1Z4ZlHT7Owksg/viewform?usp=sf_link), include which package you’d like, I’ll follow up with an invoice and away we go!

Lena from always strikes with her words in a way I’m ready to hear. And so as we approach the full moon in Sagittarius Wednesday morning at 7:13 EST, and the symbolic or actual transition of our moon cycle, I wanted to share her insight,

“This is a Super Moon and one of the most powerful time frames we have for change, transformation, improvement, expansion and raising our vibration to the highest level possible. It can be as uncomfortable as growing pains but if you stay present and focused on improvement, the rewards are phenomenal. Many indigenous peoples see this time as an anchor for the future, the beginning of a new cycle. What do you want? What do you need? What is showing up for you?

We move from individuality to cooperation and collaboration. It can begin now with the sharing of your dreams and inspirations with others. Take some time during this full moon to acknowledge what has changed in your life, what is in the process of changing, where you have support and where you could use a bit more. Gratitude and appreciation will always bring a higher vibration to your thoughts and feelings.

Blessings,

Lena”

Our little granola operation has been shaken with some obstacles and additions early in its life, so we’re leaning into Lena’s words and looking forward to the collaboration, as well as an intention to celebrate and support those around us. Breathe deep into this super moon with us and listen to your body friends ❤️ and if you’ve been curious, we promise to share more information about our progress soon!

“The new moon is a blank page, a fresh start, a moment to turn inward and consider what we want to call into our lives and what we need to let go of. It’s indeed a time for rest and reflection, so the perfect ritual would be in the comfort of your own home.

“This happens when the sun and moon come into alignment; when the yang (masculine) energy of the sun merges with the yin (feminine) essence of the moon. During this phase, the moon and the sun conjoin in the sky (align at the same degree astrologically). When this happens, energetically, it’s time to get still and plant new seeds of desire. During a new moon, it serves us to breathe new life into any area of stagnation or any place in your life where you would like to impact positive change.”

The new moon is associated with our cycle. What better time to slow down and reflect? Find gratitude for this stage of the cycle as you set your intentions. In gratitude we remember love, pause with presence, and return to nurturing ourselves.

Tomorrow’s full moon is also known as a pink moon — a super moon of sorts. So as we switch out seeds or perhaps ovulate with the moon, let us totally revel at the beauty of the moon itself, and the cycle of all things. What a beautiful world.

“What do you say, Percy? I am thinking
of sitting out on the sand to watch
the moon rise. It’s full tonight.
So we go
and the moon rises, so beautiful it
makes me shudder, makes me think about
time and space, makes me take
measure of myself: one iota
pondering heaven. Thus we sit, myself
thinking how grateful I am for the moon’s
perfect beauty and also, oh! how rich
it is to love the world. Percy, meanwhile,
leans against me and gazes up
into my face. As though I were just as wonderful
as the perfect moon.”

The luteal phase has the worst rep. It’s basically tossed at us when we do something out of character or we’re upset. “Are you PMSing?”. We dread it. We’re surprised by it every month! Why am I so tired? Ugh, my jeans don’t fit. My acne is back. Why is everyone pushing my buttons?

It doesn’t have to be that way!

During the beginning of your luteal phase, embrace the energy you’re still coasting on from ovulation, ride that wave. Take some time to check that calendar, and make plans to give yourself more space and rest than usual for the following week or more when the energy slows down and your cycle comes full circle. As you feel the slowness of the impending menstruation, chill on the workouts, eat the foods your body wants, take a bath.

I love our seed cycling granola because it’s helped me forge a more intimate relationship with my cycle. Since I switch blends from follicular to luteal at ovulation, I’ve noticed what else changes and shifts. Expectations that are reasonable make for smooth transitions. Fuel your body right and journal or check in with a friend, even if just a few words, it will help you know and recognize the patterns of your body. You’ll be better prepared and able to communicate your needs to those around you. How empowering is that!?

We found out last week that this perfect bite of hormone supportive granola was not granted space at our local farmers market this spring. It felt like a big ol’ hole was blown in the bucket of our business plan.

But with time and gentle reflection we are beginning to accept that which is spilling from the hole in our bucket is nourishing something that was buried below it.

We want to get this nutritional tool in your hands, and so we’re moving and shaking behind the scenes to make it happen. Stay tuned and thank you for sharing in the excitement and all your forms of support!! 🥣🤍

Our packaging arrived! And it’s fully compostable and sealable, which makes me feel basically like 💥⚡️💥✨
We just couldn’t get excited about another piece of plastic packaging waste in your trash can, and we needed sealable to keep the ground seeds fresh. We’re very excited to have found an answer in this pouch!

As much as I wish our blends and seeds were already in bowls in front of womxn everywhere, I’m learning that life is all about baby baby steps and persistence. Thanks for sticking with me on this path! More exciting news is coming #🌑🥣

Let’s clear one thing up first — we’re not all out here trying to be “fertile”. But a healthy reproductive system is like a healthy bowel system. We learn what to feed ourselves based on how our systems react.

More oats this week than last, or maybe craving chocolate and loving on a night time cup of nettle tea. Could really go for a burger tonight? And something with mango! We listen to our bodies as best we can, and when things feel out of balance, we adapt.

But this quote from Heng Ou’s book, Awakening Fertility, reminded me that feeding isn’t just about food. We feed ourselves each day we go to work, watch a movie, or read a book. Every time we choose our reaction to a difficult situation or set the pace for a room of people who look up to us. What are we feeding ourselves and how is our body responding? There’s a lot to be learned from our Self. Let’s all slow down and listen Her.

Good morning from the other side of my period! Our New Moon blend is full of flax and pumpkin seeds to support you beginning the day your moon arrives. It tastes so earthy and grounding, with just a hint of sweetness. A subtle way to welcome the energy of this cycle 🌕🥣
