We're not fooling around! Our latest Distiller's Reserve has just been released. Try or buy in our tasting room — while supplies last.

Bottled at 49.9% alcohol by volume, this 8-year-old high-rye straight bourbon is remarkably smooth and full of all the flavor and character you would expect from a premium mature bourbon.

After resting on new charred American oak for 8 years, new make whiskey—also known as moonshine—is transformed into a warm and rich premium spirit. As it ages, the charred oak surface absorbs harsh compounds, and the whiskey takes on sweetness and body from the wood’s own sugars. Wood lignins start to breakdown and impart flavors of vanilla and clove, while wood tannins darken the spirit, giving it a rich, warm hue. Esterification of the ethanol adds subtle floral top notes that complement the nutty rye spice present in the original high-rye mash. While it ages, the most volatile compounds in the new make whiskey slowly evaporate through the porous wood in the angel’s share, leaving behind premium bourbon.

We have HUGE news. After ten years of hard work cultivating the agaves, and 3 years of R&D into juicing, cooking, fermenting, and distilling Agave Americana with our partners , our long-awaited first farm-to-glass product is being released. The Americana is an incredibly drought tolerant endemic agave species that requires special care and attention to ferment and distill, but enormous benefits to California agricultural sustainability if used for a commercial value added product, like a California agave spirit. Not only does this product have the potential to save millions of gallons of water and add jobs and support livelihoods across the state, it’s also the smoothest agave spirit we’ve ever tried (including top-tier Mexican Tequilas). Our first batch is extremely limited, and will be available for sale online soon. In the meantime, you can be one of the first to try and buy this groundbreaking release at this weekend’s tequila & mezcal festival in Riverside, CA!

Our Distiller's Reserve Tobala Anejo Agave Spirit was just released! This is a perfect gift for the holiday season. Pickup your bottle in our tasting room, open seven days a week, while supplies last. Members in our Craft Member Club get every release shipped directly to their door free of charge.

For this release, we took our award winning single-estate Maguey Tobalá Blanco and aged it for over a year in the same seven 15-gallon chinkapin oak casks that originally aged our one-of-a-kind red and blue corn bourbons. The small size of the casks accelerated the aging process, infusing deep notes of oak and tar leather with the already-smokey tobalá agave spirit. Every barrel was bottled independently to capture the unique flavors present in each cask.

The final product is an agave spirit that feels like a cousin of Islay scotch. Deeply earthy, rich, and smokey, we think our Distiller’s Reserve Tobalá Añejo is exceptional in classic cocktails like a like a Rob Roy, Bobby Burns, or Penicillin. Of course, it also provides for a stand-out experience neat.

A few weeks ago, we had the honor of attending Joshua Tree National Park Association’s I Heart JT Benefit hosted at the lovely and historic 29 Palms Inn. The event raised funds for the ongoing maintenance and management of the park and its educational programming. Joshua Tree Distilling Company is a proud supporter of the JTNPA and the preservation of our wild places. Thank you for having us!

Happy Halloween! We’re open all day for your adult spooky party supplies. We’re also excited to announce our newest release: our Maguey Weber Blanco is our first American agave spirit made from blue Weber — known as Tequila when it’s bottled in Mexico. It’s insanely smooth with a fantastic agave flavor. Made from 100% single estate agave and offered at an incredibly low price ($35).
