A New Chapter for the Express Ranches Percheron Team

With Bob Funk Sr. no longer able to attend the shows he cherished so deeply, we took time this spring to reflect on the future and thoughtfully consider what the next chapter holds for our Percheron team. About a month and a half ago, we began conversations with the great folks at Dutch Country Organics in Middlebury, Indiana. Through those talks, it became clear they share the same values, care, and passion that have always been at the heart of our program.

We’re proud to share that the Express Ranches Percheron team will continue their journey together under the care of Dutch Country Organics. It brings us great comfort knowing the team remains together and will keep representing the draft horse industry that meant so much to Bob Sr.

We remain committed to the draft horse industry through our work with the Clydesdale hitch and look forward to continuing to share these Gentle Giants with the public at events throughout our shared communities.

We wish Dutch Country Organics the very best in the upcoming show season and look forward to seeing this team continue to shine and inspire, just as Bob always hoped they would.

With gratitude,

Bob Funk, Jr. and Josh Minshull

It is with deep sorrow that I share the passing of my dad and longtime leader, Bob Funk Sr.

Dad was a true original in every sense of the word. A bold entrepreneur, a tireless advocate for people, and a man who embodied the spirit of the American West. With his signature cowboy hat and unshakable determination, he helped build Express into what it is today: a beacon of hope.

More than a business leader, he was a man of deep faith, unwavering integrity, and clear vision. He believed in the dignity of work and the potential in every person. His passion for helping people find purpose through employment defined our mission from the very beginning and continues to inspire all we do.
Dad’s legacy lives on in the culture he helped create, in the lives he changed, and in the values he instilled in this organization. Although his passing leaves a profound void, his example of courage, generosity, and perseverance will guide us forward.

We will share details about funeral arrangements as they become available.

During this time, your thoughts and prayers are deeply appreciated. We will honor his memory by continuing his legacy by loving our families dearly, serving our clients diligently, meeting their needs enthusiastically, and caring for each other.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Bob Funk Jr.

Express Ranches - Percherons

In 2018, Express Ranches Percherons came to fruition with the purpose of teaming up with Express Clydesdales to be the equine ambassadors for Express Employment Professionals. The two gentle giant breeds will work together to represent the company at their local offices and compete at draft horse shows throughout the United States of America and Canada.

How the Heavy Horse became part of the Express Family

In 1998, Bob Funk, owner of Express Ranches and President and Vice Chairman of Express Employment Professionals, visited the longstanding Canadian Western Agribition in Regina, Saskatchewan. While visiting, he met and fell in love with the rare and beautiful black and white Clydesdales. Mr. Funk saw an opportunity to bring something entirely new and different to his home state of Oklahoma, a state steeped in its own rich equestrian history. He intuitively knew that the Clydesdales would become an unusual tourist attraction. And they have!
