Trying to race a rain storm ⛈ that’s due to hit little Yuma sometime this evening. It’s suspected it’ll rain for close to 2/3 days straight with wind ripping through. Here goes nothing 🥵🐐🤘🏼
This past weekend we traveled to California to attended the Summer San Diego Classic Goat Show. It was a rather hot & humid day reaching temps well into the 100’s, which made for a long day since we made the up and back trip in one day. Huge thank you to Renee Wolfivan, the show coordinator, SCDGA and the numerous volunteers who put on a flawless show. Got hardly any photos throughout the day but one important one I did capture is of my sister Megan. She’s been a huge help each show season year and the reason I can enter two goats in the same class. Of course off camera is Ryan, he’s been the man behind the wheel driving me to these crazy goat shows. He rolls his eyes quietly now when I tell him about the other shows I have hopes to attend and add them to the calendar. Final shoutout to all the exhibitors who showed and made impressive class sizes for the Nigerian Dwarf breed. I loved meeting new faces and getting reacquainted with familiar ones.

Excited to be making a trip to California!!
It’s amazing how once a junior doe is clipped you realize how much they’ve matured over the summer. Anxious to see how this doeling freshens next spring.

July milk test results!
The heat is steadily increasing here in Arizona🥵 and I’m doing all I can to make sure the herd stays cool so they can beat this heat. Mineral buffet stocked 24/7 and added BlueLite electrolytes to the daily option for the herd a few weeks ago.
Here’s to counting down the days on the calendar until the cooler months arrive!🌵☀️
May 21st Verification Milk Test
⚜️Trouble (3YR-3F): V-5.6lbs, BF-4.7%, P-3.9%, DIM-90
⚜️Tea (3YR-2F): V-3.1lbs, BF-5.1%, P-3.8%, DIM-120
⚜️Kitty (2YR-2F): V-4.1lbs, BF-3.9%, P-4.2%, DIM-92

⚜️Molly (1YR-1F): V-1.8lbs, BF-6.5%, P-4.1%, DIM-79
There’s just something about a photo of a naturally posed doe that makes the heart smile. Now now don’t get me wrong I love the show stacked stance and the rump scrunched down to show off that rear leg angulation to the fullest but when you can appreciate a doe in her natural stance it’s something else.

Although we stayed home this weekend and didn’t attend the final show held in Arizona. It’s been a good time to reflect on our goals, future plans and what’s to come, not to mention these girls know how to show up to work each milking.
Waiting for final paperwork to return from our Verification Milk Test that took place last weekend. Girls numbers dropped a bit but that’s to be expected with traveling to shows. Still everyone is on track to earn their milking stars for those who haven’t already done so.
Congrats to this handsome guy owned by Michelle at Bella Luna Goat Farm!! Candyman is the sire to our herd sire Bella Luna Hays Johnny Boy*B. Can’t wait to see Johnnys daughters freshen next year👏🏻🥰
He did it!! My handsome boy La Buena Vida P Candyman +B is a finished champion!!
3x Best in Show
4x Grand Champion
5x Reserve Champion
He killed it this weekend, taking first in every class, grand champion twice and best in show twice! Couldn't be happier right now :)
Had a great time this weekend at the 1st Annual Buck-A-Palooza show in Queen Creek, Arizona. Decided to only bring two bucks for this weekends 4 ring show.

A lot of amazing Nigerian Dwarf bucks attended this show and I felt pleased with how my two placed throughout this weekend against strong competition. We’re still learning the ropes, along with what appeals to the judges eye for that ideal Nigerian Dwarf buck and appearance. Congrats to all the winners, definitely well deserved and a big thank you to the ASGBA board members for putting on such a seamless show this weekend.
Thank you to Kerri Irwin for the amazing photos of my boys on the first day!! Love them!
We’ve arrived safely at Horseshoe Park & Equestrian Center, boys are settled into their weekend away from home stall. Show begins tomorrow, until then we relax and hangout with goat friends!!
I have a pet quality doeling available, and two wethers. All were bottle kids and have been recently weaned this past month. Disbudded, UTD on vaccines, message me if interested.
Last but not least to get an honorable mention is this ol’ gal right here. At the ripe age of 8 years old…
🌵Desert Bounty California Poppy 4*M 🌵
Poppy joined our herd last fall just before breeding season, and man how I cherish having her here. First to greet you at the gate and never pushy (unless you’re trying to show her 😂). She attended her first show this past weekend and I was a bit concerned with her body condition against younger does in her class. First class was 5 years & older, ranging about 13 senior milkers in the class, the judge immediately sought out Poppy and placed her 1st. I was in complete shock but ever so grateful to be in that spot. She then went on to compete head to head in ring 2 with another doe, 7 years & older class, again was placed 1st.
No ribbons brought home but this show wasn’t about that, it was about learning and gaining experience. Getting a better understanding where my herd places in larger classes and against amazing herds bred by breeders who dedicate their life to create such top notch goats.
Next doe that needs some recognition is…
🌵DesertHardt DI Vital Fame 1*M🌵
Aka…Kitty, Jenny Craig, Whale
Kitty here held her own beautifully against some outstanding 2 year old milkers. Placing top 4 in both her classes, anyone that’s talked to me about Kitty knows I call her an experiment. I refer to her as that simply because she’s my first ADGA registered doe I retained, raised and freshened as a new breeder. Not knowing much about what I was doing other then breeding goats🤷🏼♀️, luckily since then I’ve learned tons from wise mentors.
🌵Desert Bounty BO Fairy Duster🌵
(Desert Bounty AF Wild Ginger 4*M X Onaqui BH Bold Oak*B)
This 2 year old FF has me excited about her future in the show ring and milk production. She consistently placed top two/three in both her classes this weekend at the Pima County Show against some gorgeous does. Can’t wait to watch her mature👏🏻 Big thank you to Desert Bounty Farm for breeding such a stellar doe and allowing her to join our herd.
Test date: April 16th, 2022
*Few does in milk were sold early but this will be our milk testing line up until we reach 305 days.

Out of all 22 kids born on property this year, it’s only these two little sh*ts who are fence jumpers.🤦🏼♀️

Great buckling still available! With a SG dam (pending), great conformation and heavy milking lines all over his pedigree. Priced to go since I’m a new breeder with limited space on my property (his sister/brother are both retained). Once ADGA gets their data inputted into their system, he’ll be awarded his *B star.

Behind the dress clothes and painted face is just another person trying to achieve goals. I wanted to share this photo to inspire others that it’s okay to feel tired, defeated in ways, and on the verge of a mental break down. It simply means you’re putting your whole heart and soul into it. So although I joked about my “hobo” look in my social media stories, I’m actually proud of this look. This look is what hard work and determination happens to look like on that evening of milking.

When the ultra sound screen looks like this it has me excited!! Desert Bounty F Sweet Talk has been confirmed pregnant, but we won’t get an official count until she’s a few more days into her pregnancy incase any are absorbed. Scanned a few other does as well just to confirm bred and I’m excited for the numbers each doe is carry so far. Stay tuned for an official count in a few weeks😉🙌🏼 Checkout our websites breeding plans!! Still have reservations open on some really amazing lines. We are a ADGA performance herd.
