🌸 My flowers are finally starting to bloom, and I am loving all the color they bring! There's just something about seeing those first blooms that makes all the planting, watering, and waiting worth it.I can't wait to see everything fill in over the next few weeks.

Look at this beautiful bubbly sourdough starter!
When it comes to sourdough, you want all the bubbles! Those bubbles are a sign that the wild yeast and beneficial bacteria are hard at work, creating the natural fermentation that gives sourdough its incredible flavor, texture, and rise.

A healthy sourdough starter should
• Be full of bubbles throughout, not just on top
• Rise predictably after feeding (many starters double or even triple in size)
• Have a pleasant aroma that is slightly tangy, ye**ty, or mildly sweet
• Look light and airy inside when stirred or poured out
•Show consistent activity when fed regularly

Your starter is essentially a living culture made from just flour and water. The wild yeast helps your bread rise, while the beneficial bacteria create that signature sourdough flavor and help break down the flour, making it easier to digest for many people.

Fun fact: A strong, active starter is the foundation of great sourdough bread. If your starter is happy, your bread has a much better chance of developing a beautiful rise, open crumb, and amazing flavor!

The garden is coming along, and I am so excited to have fresh veggies in the farmstand later this summer! There's just something special about homegrown produce.

Unfortunately, my tomato and pepper plants decided they had other plans this year, so I'll be replanting those and hoping for better luck round two! Gardening definitely keeps us humble. 😂
Who else is growing a garden this year? What are you most excited to harvest? I can't wait to share fresh veggies with all of you when they're ready!

Sometimes I have to stop and remind myself how far this little bakery has come. ❤️

There have been long nights, early mornings, mistakes, sellouts, tears, and plenty of flour covered counters along the way. But every loaf, cinnamon roll, cookie, and cupcake has been made with so much love and gratitude.

Thank you for supporting a small town bakery, for sharing my posts, stopping by the farmstand, and believing in what I'm building. None of this would be possible without this incredible community.
My heart is full, and I'm excited to see where this journey takes us next. ❤️🥖
