www.doubleshotespressocompany.com/about We started Double Shot Espresso Company with the hope of some day opening a coffee shop right here in Zanesville, OH. So, while we are still working on opening a coffee shop, we present our small batch, home roasted, wish you could scratch and sniff your screen… coffee beans. We want to keep our coffee fresh, so we are only keeping a small amount of roasted coffee on hand. That way, you get the freshest coffee we can give (possibly roasted the day we ship it).

[Thoughts on Delivery • Ep. 2] Ever grab a gas station coffee out of pure convenience, only to feel that immediate acidic gut punch 20 minutes later?

Even with modern “grind-before-brew” machines, the issue isn’t the machine—it’s the roasting process itself. Mass-market corporate suppliers take low-quality beans and roast them hot and fast to churn out volume. That high-heat rush locks in extreme bitterness and stomach-churning acidity

Coffee shouldn’t force a compromise between convenience and comfort. By shifting to slow-roasting techniques, controlling temperature curves, and adjusting for bean elevation, you strip away the harsh acidity while bringing out the real flavor of the bean

We don’t have to accept stomach irritation as the default price of a quick cup. Better roasting is a deliberate craft, not an accident

When you’re choosing fresh beans, understanding coffee processing and growing elevation makes all the difference in what ends up in your cup:

🌊 Washed Process: The fruit pulp is completely washed off before drying. Delivers a crisp, clean, and precise flavor that lets the bean's natural profile shine

☀️ Natural Process: The whole cherry dries in the sun with the fruit skin attached. The seed absorbs wild, fruity, and berry-like notes straight from the pulp

🍯 Honey Process: The outer skin is removed while sticky fruit pulp remains during sun-drying. Yields a sweet, grounded, and balanced cup

🏔️ MASL (Meters Above Sea Level): Higher elevation means cooler nights and slower fruit maturation—resulting in denser, sweeter, and more complex flavors

When you know how your coffee was processed and grown, finding a roast you love isn't a guessing game anymore

Save this post for your next coffee run 📌—and if you’re brewing right now, are you team Washed or team Natural?

Help us give a huge welcome to the newest face keeping our bags full: Jenna! 👋☕

Jenna is joining us as here at the roastery (maybe at the Zanesville Farmers Market one day, too), and we couldn't be happier to have her energy around the shop

We sat down with her over a brew to get to know her a little better. Here is the real scoop:

⚡ Ultimate work drink: Our Vanilla Cold Brew (we promise this isn’t a sponsored ad... she just has great taste) 😉

✨ Surprising fun fact: She has a goat named Lola 🐐

🌿 Outside of work: You’ll find her relaxing and hanging out with her favorite friends and family

Next time you see us in your feed or around the shop, drop a welcome message for Jenna below!

[Thoughts on Delivery • Ep. 1] Does dark roast actually have more caffeine? Let’s bust a myth☕

The longer coffee roasts, the more moisture evaporates—meaning dark roasts actually have less caffeine than light roasts

But coffee shouldn’t just be an emergency caffeine fix. It’s about savoring the rich flavor nuances like chocolate, caramel, and roasted nuts

Ready to ditch the bitter caffeine bombs and drink coffee for the flavor? Experience our slow-roasted blends
