Please don't miss the end...friend. I've tried to show all the different looks and stages you can harvest your lisianthus at.

Each variety is going to be a touch different and sometimes just stem to stem.

My rule of thumb.

Just wait until it looks at its best. When its open and full abd lovely.

Which might mean you have to have some patience. K?? Don't go picking it with one bud.

Not to be dramatic but it's all lies you're telling yourself.

Change your mindset and view it as fun and a challenge. But also, don't best yourself up.

We all mess up.

The good news is, there is always next year to try again.

This is how I harvest and condition my flowers to make sure they don't wilt by day 2.

Cause it's embarrassing to give them a friend and have them die the next day.

🌾 Clean buckets and clean snips.
If you won't drink out of it, your plants don't want to either.

🌅 Cut 1st thing in the morning or evening. Not the middle of the afternoon.

🌿 Strip those stems. No leaves in the water.

🚿 Give them a nice drink of water and put them somewhere cool and dark for several hours to recoup.

Let's grow a pain in the butt flower...

One you have to break your back planting in the cold wet fall.

And them dig up, wash, and dry in the cold wet spring.

Doesn't that sound like something the Dutch would think is a great idea. 😆

My love for tulips 🌷 is what I remind myself when every tulip takes 2 min to pull and another 2 minutes to wash.

That doesn't even count the storing and then later cutting off the bulb, rehydrating and then bundling.

They are totally a labor of love.
And I do love them!! ❤️
