“Did you think it was pumpkin pie?
I’m not ready for that yet, so here’s a comfort food classic, Tuna Noodle Casserole. I made this at the request of my husband, I guess he needed a break from BBQ!😂
*Note: I halved this recipe, it was just me and hubby, and there’s leftovers for today. And I love this pie plate my daughter gave me, isn’t it the cutest??🥰
*𝕋𝕦𝕟𝕒 ℕ𝕠𝕠𝕕𝕝𝕖 ℂ𝕒𝕤𝕤𝕖𝕣𝕠𝕝𝕖*
16 ounces wide egg
noodles
1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 can condensed cream of chicken soup
1 cup milk
1 cup frozen peas
12 oz. canned tuna, drained
1 cup shaved Parmesan (or cheddar, I like the salty nuttiness of Parmesan in this)
½ cup Italian panko bread
crumbs
› 1 tablespoon butter
melted
salt and pepper to taste
Heat oven to 375°
Cook noodles until Al dente, drain and return to pot.
In a separate bowl, whisk together soups, milk and S&P.
Fold in tuna. peas, cheese, mushrooms and put into pot with noodles. Stir together.
Place in a buttered casserole dish (9x13 if making full recipe)
Mix melted butter and mix with panko breadcrumbs. Sprinkle on top of casserole. I shook on some paprika for color.
Bake for 40 minutes, until all bubbly. Place under broiler for a few to crisp up the top.
What’s something you don’t make often, but crave once in a while?
