This is another chick from my best Exchequer hen Broche' - "Zig".
I managed to get 2 out of 3 this last hatch. I set one egg after returning from the last show and candled it - it was a quitter.
Feeling very blessed to get Zig and Zag!

I was inside my house after I returned from yard sailing this morning and heard screaming coming from my garage building.
I thought it was a kitten stuck in my garage or my truck engine - turned out to be a frog!
Never heard a frog scream before...a snake was trying to swallow him.
I decided to save him and he hopped away just fine.
Snake is not so happy with me

***Update - the pair has a new home***

Purebred Serama pair.
Mottled cockrell is 5 months, Exchequer pullet is 8 months and laying.

I also have a frizzled Exchequer cockrell I can pair her with instead for a bit more.

I use these rubber mats to line the bottoms of my condos and chicken coops.
No more scraping!! If you want to use diatomaceous earth you can put it under the mat to cut down on dust.
The little nobbies give great traction and also help prevent some bedding from getting kicked around.
I simply lift the mat folded like a taco and dump the bedding into the trash. Then I pressure wash them, super easy!
I will be selling via pre-order a limited number of these mats at the 3rd annual Backyard Serama Showdown show in Gonzales, LA Sept 26th.
$3.00 each.
