This June, we're proud to help bring two new Pride initiatives to the Valley- creating opportunities to celebrate, connect, and support those we know and love, work alongside, and call neighbors.

Well despite a whole lot of Friday the 13th nonsense (apologies to everyone who froze their butts off in the tasting room), we made it to the weekend!

The trifecta of weekends is fast approaching. Did you make your dinner reservations yet? So yeah, the BAD news is that ship probably sailed here in Yakima. The GOOD news is we will be pairing Dora's (of Crafted) famous chocolate bombs with the 2021 Brothers Collection. The Bros Rawn themselves will be popping bottles (and hopefully not breaking anything) in our fancy schmancy new Library.

The old white guys are finally entering the chat. Not because we haven’t been seeing and feeling very deeply, but because it’s been legitimately hard to find the words. Yet the bungled words of a farmer are far better than staying silent.

Our hearts hurt. We are not okay. But we are okay-er than many in our community, and honestly, that hurts more. Fear is fueling hate and cruelty in our country.

It would be easy to say nothing. Plenty of people will do exactly that and suffer no consequences. That’s the downside of privilege: comfort and convenience are terrible motivators for change. But if we never speak up, we run the risk of losing that opportunity forever.

There are many things that make this country great. Its people. Its spirit. The unrelenting pursuit of freedom and happiness. Diversity- in every sense of the word- from ethnicity and culture to thoughts and opinions. The promise of due process when life gets complicated. Access to safety nets and resources. Love, kindness and pride in being American. All those things are currently being threatened.

So use your voice. Call your reps. Donate. Run for office, any office. Vote. And perhaps, above all right now, be a good person. A good neighbor. A good citizen of the world.

And if (who are we kidding, WHEN) you need wine, we’ll be here for you. Speaking of needing wine- if you or someone you know lives in Minnesota, we’ll ship it there free. Just call Jeff, and we’ll make it happen.
