It's getting near that time again. We built a fire in the fire ring off our back porch last Sunday when the rain was raining, and fingers were stiff from picking grapes... I sure could've used a couple of tamales and a cup of hot chocolate (with a little something special...)

Something new...
Marty is trying something different this year! With a 650-pound surplus of Tempranillo fruit at harvest, he decided to make a rosé to blend into the normally single-variety Grenache rosé. This should give the new blended rosé a bit more complexity, body and depth. He'll taste the two wines throughout production with the intent to blend and manage the fermentations toward that goal. This is what small-lot, handcrafted winemaking is all about!

Albariño is in!
We picked and crushed 1,180 lbs. (580.6 kilos) of Albariño grapes yesterday! I'm extremely pleased with the quality of this fruit. For a second vintage of these vines, I think it's stellar! I'm working to get these vines into optimum shape.
I expect to bottle about 36 cases of wine late this winter. There will definitely be a 2-bottle limit again this year, so more people can enjoy this beautiful expression of a great Iberian grape.

Albariño, here we come!
We sold out of our Albariño wine last year and hope it lasts a bit longer this vintage. Granted, last year was the first harvest and very limited, but the eleven cases that we produced sold out in about five weeks. That, even with a two-bottle limit!
We're expecting to pick about 1,500 lbs. of fruit this year and should be able to produce about 45 cases of an Estate Albariño wine. Hopefully available in January or February of 2027! Stay tuned...

Harvest begins tomorrow!
We will be picking our Albariño block of grapes tomorrow, Sunday, September 6th. There is a slight chance of rain, but hopefully SOMETHING will finally go our way this year!
If you'd like to stop by for a wine tasting, please note that we will try to convince you to enjoy it while we continue with harvest activities. We will always try to accommodate our guests.

Our neighbors are up to something good!

Harvest is right around the corner and the vineyard is changing by the day.
The bins are getting ready and the cellar is about to get a whole lot busier!

And Branden? He’s been making plans all year long.

This harvest, we're leaning even further into letting our estate fruit lead the way, trying a few new things, and making wines that feel unmistakably us.

Those firsts?

Our first-ever 100% Estate Rosé as well as a certain block of Tempranillo we have some rather… long-term plans for.

Harvest 2026 is nearly here and we have a feeling there are going to be a few surprises worth waiting for.

Marty's Big Day...
Marty has a very important medical appointment today. He has been diagnosed with a couple of lesions on his prostate gland and will go "under the knife" to have tissue samples taken and biopsies done on them. It's just an investigatory procedure and totally precautionary. There's a small chance of "the big C" of around 20% - 25 %, so we're hoping for the best.
Because of the need for a fasting day, as well as the pre-procedure "cleaning," he figured that a good dinner was important! So he fixed this pork carnitas taco with shreddy cheese and Herdez Brand Salsa Verde. A side of broccoli and a glass of Ruby Mag' Graciano should ensure that he is well prepped for the procedure.
