This bee (Protandrena Abdominalis) hasn’t been seen in Virginia in decades but today an Entomologist from DCR found several on our farm in Zuni. This bee specializes in pollinating the Spotted Bee Balm which we now have acres of in bloom. For us this discovery highlights the importance of giving space to native perennial flowers.
