Our last Beekeeing 101 demonstration of the season was a great time! We had 6 people come out to learn about bees and take a look inside our hive at the park. If you didn’t get a chance to enjoy one this year, stay tuned for our next series of demos in the spring!

Next month I am offering 3 free beekeeping demonstrations at Windsor Castle Park in Smithfield. There will be 6 spots available for each. Dates are 10/11, 10/18, and 10/25 starting at 10am.

We will be doing hive inspections with bee suits on so please be sure to wear closed toed shoes.

🎉 “Hap-Bee” Birthday to our resident beekeeper extraordinaire, James! 🎉 Some fun facts about James…

🐝 He learned the art of beekeeping from his mom, Phyllis, who kept bees while he was growing up. James has been tending to his own hives since 2016.

🐝 James spent three years living abroad in Spain and is fluent in Spanish!

🐝 James is a certified Master Gardener and when he’s not tending to hives, he can be found in the garden. He has extensive knowledge of both flora and fauna.

🐝 James has watched every episode of The Office on repeat and could definitely win any “Office” trivia contest!

🐝 He ran his first marathon this past April (and no, he didn’t “carbo load” 20 minutes before the race 🤣…see previous fact to understand the reference)!

🐝 James is a proud dad to his daughter “Little C” and to a quirky redbone c**n hound named Stanley!
