Toscanini - Family of Wines, nació en 1894 cuando Don Juan Toscanini y su esposa, María Bianchi partieron de Génova, Italia y se trasladaron al Río de la Plata, en Uruguay. No se sabe lo que inspiró a Juan y Maria a hacer este viaje épico: ¿La paz? ¿El clima? ¿La viña virgen? ¿Los tres, tal vez? Podemos suponer en primera instancia que las tres razones fueron lo que los motivaron. Poco después de llegar a la capital, Montevideo, se establecieron a 30 km al norte, en la zona rural de Canelón Chico, donde pasarían la próxima década como agricultores itinerantes. Su trabajo esforzado y continuo, junto a su sueño de lograr un prospero futuro en su nuevo país, llevo a que en 1908 Juan y María, fundaran su bodega a la que nombraron: Toscanini. Toscanini – Family of Wines, was born in 1894 when our patriarch, Don Juan Toscanini and his wife, Maria Bianchi left the marital home in Genoa, Italy and moved to Uruguay´s Rio del Plata. It is not know what inspired Juan and Maria to make this epic journey. All three perhaps? We can assume it was in the first instance, the latter. For soon after landing in the capital, Montevideo, they ventured 30 kms north to the farming community of Canelon Chico where they would spend the next decade as itinerate farmers. They worked long and hard, all the time dreaming of establishing a future in their new country. Then , in 1908, flush with the fruits of their labors, Juan and Maria founded their eponymous winery; Toscanini.
