H'Biang is inspired by a realisation that coffee in Vietnam has, for too long, been dominated by standardized, mass-production that has only resulted in a limited range of low-quality products. Not only does this model fail to provide for the huge range of different tastes and different ways of making coffee that are available to the consumer, but it also distances the consumer from the producer,
limits choice, promotes a lack of flexibility and prevents the customer from engaging with the product. Customers can neither enjoy nor identify with the coffee they are buying. H'Biang believes that this unsatisfactory situation can be rectified by growing a range of high-quality coffee varieties, by using only natural pesticides, by carefully harvesting and processing the green beans, and by keeping the production small-scale enough to individually blend, roast and package coffee. The primary concern of H'Biang was to develop a brand of coffee wholly centered around our customers and our continuing goal is to satisfy the needs of our customers by producing coffee to their exact specifications and tastes. By keeping our operations small-scale we are able to be reconnect the consumer with the environment and people who grow the coffee. Moreover, by being flexible and responsive to the needs of customers we are able to invite the customer into the production process and give them a greater connection with the product and brand.
