Yeast extract is a 100% natural ingredient made up of naturally taste-providing components, and under European Food Law, it may appear on labels as “yeast extract” or sometimes as “natural flavour”.

Unlike flavour enhancers, its main role is not simply boosting existing taste. It naturally brings rich savoury flavour to food, much like herbs and spices do in cooking.
