Meet one of our judges for the STREETS Global Awards: Barry Berman

A Hollywood screenwriter known for films such as Benny & Joon, Barry founded Infinity Culinary Training (ICT) in South Africa 17 years ago — a social enterprise creating pathways out of poverty.

ICT equips trainees from some of South Africa’s most underserved communities with the life skills and professional qualifications needed to begin careers in hospitality.

Barry joins a panel of global experts in tourism, hospitality, and social enterprise for the STREETS Global Awards.

STREETS continues to move forward, not only with our training, but with all the important administrative and organizational tools that make our Center of Excellence mission a reality.

Colin Blackwell and Trang Nguyen, from Enablecode in Saigon, generously agreed to support STREETS as our professional advisors as we moved forward with AI. We are eagerly applying this new technological initiative to our internal and external communications, media and web content, reports and proposals.

STREETS đang tiếp tục phát triển, không chỉ trong chương trình đào tạo mà còn qua những công cụ và hệ thống vận hành giúp hiện thực hóa mục tiêu trở thành một Center of Excellence.

Ông Colin Blackwell và Chị Trang Nguyễn từ Enablecode đã đồng hành hỗ trợ STREETS với vai trò cố vấn trong quá trình ứng dụng AI. 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 #𝟐𝟐 𝐀𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬.

STREETS is pleased to welcome 26 new Trainees to begin their 14-month training program in Hoi An.

This diverse group comes from across Vietnam – from Thanh Hoa and Hai Phong in the north, to Da Nang in central Vietnam, to the highland regions of Gia Lai, Dak Lak, and Lam D**g, and to HCMC and D**g Nai in the south.

Equally young men and young women, from ethnic minority communities, and single mothers joined the program – important in our continued effort to ensure access to those most in need.

They arrive with a sense of anticipation, ready to embark on their transformative journey with the STREETS program.

STREETS vui mừng chào đón 26 Học viên mới bắt đầu chương trình đào tạo 14 tháng tại Hội An.

Các bạn đến từ nhiều tỉnh thành trên khắp Việt Nam – từ Thanh Hóa, Hải Phòng ở phía Bắc, Đà Nẵng ở miền Trung, đến Gia Lai, Đắk Lắk, Lâm Đồng ở khu vực Tây Nguyên, cùng TP.HCM và Đồng Nai ở phía Nam.

Lớp #22 có sự tham gia của cả nam và nữ, các bạn trẻ đến từ cộng đồng dân tộc thiểu số, cùng các mẹ đơn thân – tiếp tục thể hiện cam kết của STREETS trong việc tạo cơ hội cho những người cần sự hỗ trợ nhiều nhất.

Mang theo sự háo hức và nhiều kỳ vọng, các bạn đã sẵn sàng bắt đầu hành trình mới cùng STREETS.

Once again! STREETS Awards celebrate social enterprises and impact-driven businesses in hospitality and tourism worldwide.

STREETS recognizes the important role that tourism plays in developing economies. It is often one of the first and largest sectors to experience growth and expansion.

As a part of their apprenticing, STREETS’ Trainees host Noodle Tasting Tours, giving guests a genuine experience of HoiAn’s food culture. The tour begins at the local Tan An Market, where Trainees introduce fresh local vegetables, fruits, spices and traditional joss memorial paper stalls. Guests also sample local handmade Bún, Phở, and Cao Lầu noodles from market vendors.

Back at Noodle House by Streets, everyone joins a hands-on noodle demonstration and noodle making before sitting down to the iconic Mi Quang noodle lunch. Always fresh and prepared and served by our Trainees and graduates.

The carefully planned apprenticing at STREETS serves to strengthen our Trainees’ confidence, communication, and presentation skills. All essential to their upcoming success in the hospitality and tourism industries.

Là một phần trong chương trình đào tạo thực hành, các Học viên STREETS trực tiếp dẫn dắt Tour Khám phá Ẩm thực Mì, mang đến cho du khách trải nghiệm chân thực về văn hóa ẩm thực Hội An.
Hành trình bắt đầu tại chợ Tân An, nơi các Học viên giới thiệu những loại rau củ, trái cây, gia vị địa phương tươi ngon cùng các gian hàng vàng mã truyền thống. Du khách cũng có cơ hội thưởng thức các loại bún, phở và cao lầu thủ công từ những tiểu thương trong chợ.

Trở lại Noodle House by STREETS, mọi người cùng tham gia phần hướng dẫn và trải nghiệm làm mì thủ công trước khi thưởng thức bữa trưa với món Mì Quảng đặc trưng — luôn tươi ngon và được phục vụ bởi chính các Học viên và cựu học viên của chúng tôi.

Chương trình đào tạo thực hành được thiết kế bài bản tại STREETS giúp Học viên xây dựng sự tự tin, phát triển kỹ năng giao tiếp và thuyết trình — những nền tảng quan trọng cho hành trình nghề nghiệp tương lai trong ngành dịch vụ và du lịch.
