Thank you, , for honouring Workshop14 with two recognitions at Tatler Best 2026: Best 20 Bars in Vietnam and Best Design Bar.

For a bar built around the idea of craft - in flavour, space, and the quiet discipline behind both - this recognition means a great deal to us.

Our sincere thanks to the Tatler Vietnam team, the judging panel, and most importantly, to every guest who has stepped through our door, sat at our counter, trusted our rather serious experiments, and allowed this little “14th village” to keep shaping its voice.

We are grateful, encouraged, and already back to work.
As one should be.

JUAN FOR THE ROAD

Ingredients: Creyente, Tamarind syrup, Cointreau, Lime acid, Salt Rim
Taste notes: Smoky, Tangy, Crisp

A smoky, tamarind-forward twist on a margarita.
This drink got its name during testing, when Juan – the younger brother of a dear friend – dropped by, tried it, and ended up drinking five. Before he wobbled his way home, we offered him “one for the road.” The name stuck.

It features mezcal for its signature smokiness and a clarified tamarind cordial that brings tart-sweet balance and silky acidity. Light, sharp, a little dangerous.
You won’t find it on the menu, but our bartenders will know what you mean.

Best paired with a Grab.

x Workshop14: Geography in a glass.

The botanical landscape of Bali took over the Workshop14 counter, translating a distinct terroir directly to the Hanoi palate.

Rather than relying on bar theatrics, brought the raw essence of Indonesia into his service.
Tropical fruits, earthy roots, and medicinal barks were dismantled and rebuilt, offering our guests a highly structured tasting experience rooted entirely in indigenous flavors.

This exchange is exactly the kind of dialogue Workshop14 aims to spark.
Our ongoing commitment is to continuously connect local cocktail enthusiasts with global craftsmen, bringing a rotation of diverse philosophies, regional ingredients, and unconventional approaches to flavor manipulation right to our bar.

A sincere thank you to Adi and the Ambar Ubud team. Cheers to an evening grounded simply and effectively in the ingredient.

Gents, consider this your Friday plan sorted!

The counter at Workshop14 will host a guest shift led by Ariyadi Saputra - known as Adi , Head Mixologist of Ambar Ubud Bar, the cocktail bar housed within Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve.

Born in Lombok and shaped in Bali, Adi works with a disciplined focus on local botanicals and a circular approach to sustainability. Ingredients are not treated as accents but as the foundation—handled with intent, carried through the process, and expressed with clarity rather than excess.

Within his home bar, that thinking draws from Ubud’s traditional medicinal knowledge, interpreted through Japanese techniques and occasionally completed through rituals such as coconut-aging or tableside finishing. The result is composed, precise, and anchored in place.

For one evening, that perspective moves into our space—less a takeover, more an exchange between two ways of working that share the same underlying logic.

Phong cách của Adi chắt lọc từ di sản Lombok và Bali, tập trung khai thác triệt để hệ sinh thái bản địa. Ứng dụng kỹ thuật pha chế chuẩn xác từ Nhật Bản trên nền tảng y học cổ truyền Ubud, mỗi nhánh thảo mộc hay vỏ cây đều được xử lý nhằm kiến tạo những ly cocktail vững cấu trúc. Nguyên liệu lúc này vượt khỏi ranh giới hương vị, trở thành những thực thể chuyên chở công năng và tự sự.

Looking back at our guest shift at Vesper , a true Bangkok institution, the energy and hospitality we experienced still resonate.
It was a privilege to share our craft behind one of the city's most legendary bars.

Our deepest thanks go out to the Bangkok bar community, every guest who stopped by, and most importantly, the incredible team at Vesper.
Tom Hearn and his crew were the ultimate hosts - not only for their professional support but for their patience in looking after our two resident "party animals," Richard and Minh .ngn_ . Keeping those two in check is no small feat, and you did it with world-class grace.

Banana for Scale is our minimalist take on the classic Daiquiri, reimagined through a lens of technical precision.
By replacing traditional citrus with acid-adjusted banana, we’ve achieved a sharp, calculated brightness that integrates seamlessly with Havana 3 Rum.
The addition of Mac Khen distillate introduces a wild, herbal complexity from the Vietnamese highlands, all housed within a crystal-clear, clarified texture.

It is a cocktail that is strictly Fruity, Aromatic, and Crisp. A Daiquiri-adjacent build that uses no lime and features wild-grown pepper berries… actually, never mind the technicalities, the result is all that matters.

BEYOND THE BAKEHOUSE!

There is a certain dignity in the Synonym Roll that a common pastry simply cannot afford. While a standard cinnamon roll demands the indignity of sticky fingers, this clarified expression offers the same warming embrace with far more decorum.

By suspending the aromatic oils of Cassia within such a transparent medium, the spice is allowed to linger without overstaying its welcome. It is a drink of quiet complexities and decadent restraint. One might call it a liquid paradox: profoundly rich, yet impossibly light.

A bit like a good joke: best enjoyed slowly, and without the mess.
