Happy spring to you all!

It's been a while since we sent out one of these and that's
for a good reason. We have a few things to
get through in this email so we'll try keep it short and succinct (I've never
had a reason to use that word before...I like it).

The first thing to note (and you may have noticed already)
is that, as many of you know, we've had to increase the price of our steaks by
10%, all the other products will remain the same price.

The second thing to note is a few location changes for our
items. Starting this month, our meat will no longer be available in Athabasca, Spruce
Grove, or Fort Assiniboine.

The second thing leads us into the third, and most
substantial notice: You'll notice above that we are removing our products from
quite a few locations. This is because, after much thought, number crunching,
discussions, and prayer we have decided that we will not continue this
endeavour after 2025. Over the course of this coming year, we will be reducing
our herd. We will be keeping enough animals to supply our fresh frozen markets for this year but will be phasing out our wholesale markets. We will also be reducing the farmers markets we go to this summer. It breaks our hearts to have to do this – farming is in our blood
after all – but after weighing many different factors including our own health
and the future of our kids, we've decided this is for the best. We have truly
loved meeting and getting to know all our customers over the last few years and
are so thankful for all the support you have shown. Please continue to support
your local grain and livestock farmers. They are the lifeblood of this province
and this country.

You may hear from us a couple more times in the months ahead
as we keep you updated with all that's going on. In the meantime, we hope you
have a wonderful start to a new growing season!

All our best,

Adrian and Jacquie Hamoen

Once again we were honored with a few exchange students, teacher and the interpreter from Tokoto, Japan. Adrian gave them the tour while I made them lunch with another student from our school. Salisbury steak, potatoes, and veggies. For dessert, ice cream and strawberries.
