Southern Baked Mac and Cheese 🧀🍝

🛒 Ingredients:

450 g (1 lb) elbow macaroni
4 tbsp unsalted butter
2 cups whole milk
1 cup heavy cream
2 large eggs
3 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
2 cups shredded mild cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup sour cream
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp paprika
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tbsp butter, for greasing the baking dish
👩‍🍳 Directions:
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and butter a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Cook the macaroni until just tender. Drain well and stir in the 4 tablespoons of butter.
Whisk together the milk, heavy cream, eggs, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
Combine the three cheeses. Stir half into the warm macaroni, then spread half of the macaroni in the baking dish.
Sprinkle with some of the remaining cheese, add the rest of the macaroni, and pour the milk mixture evenly over everything.
Cover the top generously with the remaining cheese.
Bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes, until bubbling around the edges and golden on top.
Let it rest for 10 minutes, then scoop, serve warm, and enjoy that creamy, cheesy goodness!
