Paul Conti Wines THREE GENERATIONS, FAMILY-OWNED WINERY EST. 1948
Vineyards located in Margaret River, at the homestead winery in Woodvale and metropolitan Perth.

Cellar door open for tastings and purchases. Location: 529 Wanneroo Road, Woodvale WA 6026 Established in 1948 and spanning three generations of winemaking pedigree, Paul Conti Wines is an award-winning boutique, family owned establishment with humble Sicilian origins and an overriding passion for quality. Paul’s father, Charlie, was one of the first vignerons to plant vines on the coastal ‘sand

over limestone’ soils in 1948 and decades later the mature vines have prospered contributing to full bodied, fruit driven wines that exhibit distinctive regional qualities. Known as an industry pioneer, Paul was one of just a handful of producers who in 1968 gained early success with his award winning Mariginiup Shiraz. Today, the iconic wine is still produced and hand-picked from the original shiraz vines planted in 1958, with son Jason at the helm of all winemaking responsibilities. Fruit is entirely hand-picked from family estate and selected vineyards located in Pemberton, the Perth Hills and Margaret River where the Conti family own a vineyard.

For a long time we've produced very small batches of pinot noir - it's our best kept secret. 🤫

Over several decades, we sourced fruit from an exceptional grower in Pemberton - hence the previous label 'Pemberton Pinot'.

After losing this long-standing grower recently, we began scouting for the perfect little Margaret River plot, one that was more cool-climate in nature in relation to other parts of the region.

Nestled in the deep far south, closer to the Southern Ocean, whilst favourably bolstered by the Indian Ocean, we found our grower with a small, meticulously managed plot that was ideal for nuturing pinot noir; enjoying more cloud cover in summer, and grey, misty afternoons - the optimal conditions for this precious variety.

In the winery, Jason treats the wine with true artisanal tradition; "lo-fi" winemaking as he likes to call it.

Whole-bunch fermented with stalks and all using natural yeasts, and fermented in our original concrete open-top fermenters before gentle extraction via our beautiful old basket press - then matured in seasoned oak and bottled young to retain vibrant fruit freshness, all while capturing a classic, Burgundian, traditionally stalky style.

Our current 2024 vintage is a richer-bodied wine due to a warmer summer season in Margs, but expect 2025 to be a tad lighter - a terrific food wine.

We have very limited stock of the 2024, so if you are a devoted Pinot-file, we suggest you grab a few bottles before we sell out.

We aim to release the 2025 vintage this coming spring. 🪻🐝🦋

$30.

This is 'Little Grey Fergy', our vintage Massey Ferguson tractor that has served us faithfully and dutifully for almost 70 years.

Jason loves this old ducky, and he'll be charging her up next week when he puts seed out for ground cover around our Nero d'avola vines, planted at our original homestead vineyard in Woodvale.

(A ripper of a wine that's getting excellent reviews around the nation. 🍷)

We reckon she's got some good years left in her yet 🙌🫶👊

Judged by an impressive gathering of movers and shakers from the East Coast's food and wine scene.

🍷 This wine appeared in the top six wines of the day for Robinson, Carlin, McGuinness, Baxter, and Farquar. Robinson described “this wine takes a slightly more mature approach.

🍷 I love how black fruits stand out – blackberry, black plums, elderberries and a healthy dose of raisins are present on the first whiff. And without the fruit being overripe, there’s a beautiful blackberry jamminess in the body of the wine.

🍷 It goes hand in hand with the dried rose and black tea notes that emerge as you let the wine breathe, cutting through the richness and adding much needed structure.

Last Saturday we were without power for around 12 hours, and although we prepared ourselves for a challenging day, we actually ended up rather enjoying it! We think our customers quite liked the moody vibes too!

Thankfully the blue skies and sunshine outside made up for it.

Pleased to report, we will have power this Saturday, but maybe not the same level of sunshine according to BOM! 🙌

Have you experienced our garden area on a glorious sunny day?

It's a closely kept secret for those who love it, and a beautiful surprise for those who discover it.

Our winery is an escape from the outside world, a step back into simpler, more joyous times, and steeped in family tradition.

What a stunning morning in Cow Town, with the application of a light fertiliser to nourish the vines, post-vintage.

When vineyard management is this considered, it's going to show in the wines.

Today marks the final pressing for the 2026 vintage! In this case, it was our Margaret River cabernet sauvignon.

While some might sigh with relief that vintage is over, Jason feels a temporary pang of sadness 😔

He thrives on the chaos of monitoring weather patterns, driving in the early hours to check on our Margaret River vineyard, working with the vineyard crew and watching his babies mature on the vine, to ultimately crushing the fruit into what we enjoy today.
