G Mitchard & Sons High Class family Butcher .Est 1913 by Gilbert Mitchard .Now Being run by Gilbert's Grandson, Brian EST 1913..Celebrated 100 yrs in 2013. G. Chris Mitchard.

Mitchard and Sons is a high quality family Butchers. All Meat sourced locally. Over the years the business has remained in the Mitchard family and is now being run by Brian, Barbara ,Chris and Sarah Mitchard. We have won numerous awards for our sausages ,pies, bacon and burgers. In 1993 and 2013 we were invited to the prestigious Butchers Hall in London to
receive awards for continued excellence.

In 2013 Chris was awarded best product in the south west for home cured gammon and went on to attend national awards. From 1999-2005 our Pork Pies won best pie in the southwest...this pork pie competition was stopped in 2006. All of our products and cuts are produced on our premises...Bacon, hams, pies ,sausages, faggots. We would like to thank all our Customers and look forward to meeting new faces.

We are sending our thoughts and prayers to the family,friends and employees of Roger Penny who's funeral it was today.. dad and Roger would always have a good chat about work and the state of the world or horses that were always pretty entertaining...when he'd leave the shop I'd always get a "cheerio Chris take care my son " and a cheeky smile and often words of advice..
Although I've not seen Roger for a while he was always a pleasure to spend time with over the years and Dad and all of us at Mitchards are thinking of him today .RIP.

Just like to say a big thankyou to our new customers..we've noticed a lot of new faces over last few weeks which as a small business in these turbulent times makes us so happy...so thankyou to our lovely regular customers who return weekly and thankyou to the newer customers who have chosen to shop with us and support local farms and business..we aim to continue to bring great local farmed meat all prepped by us on premises.
