I don't often share other creators' videos, but this one really resonated with me.
First, a huge thank you to Anne of All Trades for asking thoughtful questions and highlighting stories like this, and to Jill at Whispering Willows Farm for being willing to share your journey, purpose / your "why" and the impact you are making in your community!
What spoke to me most wasn't the income she generates from a single acre. Yes, that did catch my eye but more importantly, it was her "why."
We hear conversations about feeding the world, but this reminded me of something I strongly believe: change starts LOCALLY. When more people grow a little food, support local producers, share knowledge, and invest in their communities, we create stronger local food systems.
I don't have aspirations of making $100,000 from our farm, but I do believe in growing food, raising animals responsibly, knowing where our food comes from, and sharing what we can with others. Every garden, every backyard flock, every homestead, and every local farmer contributes something valuable.
Imagine if... more neighborhoods had access to fresh, locally grown food.
Imagine if... more people felt empowered to grow even a small portion of what they eat.
The impact would be incredible!
This video is worth watching—not because of the numbers, but because of the mindset behind it.
What are your thoughts? Could local food production play a bigger role in your community?
