No one ever prepares you for the day you have to say goodbye.
And each time you face that farewell, it never gets easier. If anything, it becomes more numbing
This layer of loss feels very different.
Our story with bunnies began with a birthday gift, and sadly, it ended around one too.
Years ago, around Billy’s birthday, we saw a flyer at our vet for two little brothers who needed a home. Their family was moving to Germany and couldn’t take them along.
We were still grieving the rabbits who started it all, Chewy and Larry, but somehow, in the middle of that sadness, Turkey and Pickle found their way to us.
They eventually found their way to Joanie, our last bunny at home, and once they clicked, the three of them were inseparable.
Joanie was the boss. Turkey and Pickle knew it.
From our move from DC back to Philadelphia, the pandemic, building a new life and working nonstop, they were always there.
Snuggles. Treats. Head scratches. Zoomies. Whatever came first.
They were the exclamation point at the end of our crazy, ambitious days.
Losing all three in the span of five months has been soul crushing.
We miss them so much.
Thank you to everyone who checked in on us, sent messages, and kept our little family in your thoughts.

Raiding your fridge for leftovers is required if you want this recipe to be its best 🏆
As a kid, I was a picky eater. No lunch meat. No crust on my white bread. 😅
So my mom started making me pita sandwiches with butter 🧈 leftover chicken 🍗 pickles 🥒 and a handful of chips 🥔 for crunch.
Little did I know, that was the beginning of my Loaded Chicken Gyros.
Today, I marinate the chicken so it’s juicy, tender, and packed with flavor 🤤 But the best part hasn’t changed.

Food Journey 5.0 is an immersive walking food tour through Fishtown, Philadelphia, my backyard filled with flavor and discovery.
We’ll walk from stop to stop along Frankford Avenue, tasting our way through the neighborhood while hearing stories, learning history, and taking in the street art Philly is known for.
This tour is led by chefs who know food and the stories behind each stop.
What we’re tasting:
🥨 Giant soft pretzel with beer cheese and mustard
🍕 Riviera pizza with pepperoni cups, stracciatella, pecorino, basil, and hot honey
🍔 Cheeseburger and strawberry milkshake
🍩 Classic donut and daily special donut
🥩 Philly cheesesteak with freshly sliced USDA ribeye and Cooper Sharp cheese
🍷 Wine tasting, tank room tour, and barrel or tank sample
