The origination of the Craft Beverage program began here...as the saying goes, 'From little acorns do mighty oaks grow.' For a number of years prior to 2012, I taught in our Applied Degree program...Bioprocessing was one of the courses that I taught and brewing was an element in the course. Sure, we used beer kits and basic equipment but those aggies sure paid attention! And some very good products too!

A joyous day of sorts! My (middle) son and I were able to transfer 110 used, clean kegs to a buyer today...some of the proceeds will go to the Craft Beverage Club with the lion's share going to the Olds College Student Hardship Fund...a noteworthy cause for sure. If you're looking for kegs, we have 'em! Scrubbed off previous owner's names, cleaned on the outside and inside, we've still got lots! 50's ($50), 30's ($40) and 20's ($30), you need 'em! Here's Sam with his Mum and Dad! Sam worked as a research assistant with me on our Quality Project for Canadian brewers for nearly a year. And he's also a 'film star' and graciously agreed to be filmed for some promo work...and of course his proud parents came down to the college for the event! I love their pride in a son who has done well. Missing you brother...hope you and yours are well.
