King Cider Distillery We grow apple and pear varieties which are classically blended similar to the Calvados produced in Normandy France.

The result is a slow oak aged aperitif apple brandy to be enjoyed with meals and friends. We have been making cider from our own King apples here on Vashon at Fruits des Vignes Farm since the 90's. We enjoy gathering together for the annual apple harvest cider pressing with family and friends. The sharing of fresh pressed cider is a long standing Vashon tradition which has formed the roots of cult

ure that the small island is founded on celebrating our regions long history of orchards and farming. Many of our apple and pear varieties go back to the first homesteaders in the late 1800s who planted the very trees we still harvest. By furthering this tradition as a small cider distillery, we proudly grow 29 varieties of both apples and pears espalier French style meticulously cared for and sculpted. Each fall our harvest is pressed into cider blends. The final result is a distilled French style aperitif commonly known as Calvados. We incorporate the classic Normandy style by blending the varieties to create distinct flavorful brandy's that can be enjoyed with foods and friends.

Today we pressed a small 25 gallon batch of Golden Russets using our Good Nature Cloth n Rack press.
We rarely use this press except for small batch ciders that we plan on offering as sparkling champagne style cider on draft.
Clarity and bubbles is the goal.

We are picking apples daily.  Our espalier wire is barely holding these Golden Russets up.  We will be making 5 gal kegs...
