Tonight we’re making BBQ chicken sliders, and y’all, these are SO good!

Sweet, saucy BBQ chicken, melty cheese, and buttery rolls baked until golden brown. They’re easy to throw together, budget-friendly, and perfect for feeding a whole bunch of hungry people!

And let’s be real, any dinner that doesn’t take forever to make AND the kids will actually eat is a win in my book!

Why buy frozen potato wedges when you can make them right at home?! Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and seasoned just right!

These are SO easy to throw together, and they go with just about anything. Plus, they’re a whole lot cheaper than buying the frozen ones when you’re feeding a small army like I am! 😂

There’s just something about a warm, homemade peach cobbler that makes everything right in the world.

And if you’re not eating it warm with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream (or homemade whipped cream), you’re missing out!

Now, the real question… are you team ice cream or team whipped cream on your cobbler?

Let’s make an easy crock pot dinner! Roast with gravy, carrots and baked potatoes for dinner tonight. I mixed up a homemade seasoning and let the crock pot do the rest. Now if only it could was the dishes too, then we’d really be getting somewhere!

Me to my husband: “LOOK! I found another riveting piece of completely useless information that you absolutely need to know.”

My husband, barely acknowledging my existence: “Cool. I found 17 more recipes you can make me.”

😂😂

Sir. I am trying to EDUCATE you on the perils of the Congo and to see if we can take out a life insurance policy on Ash D***s. Please stop assigning me dinner homework.

Fear not for tomorrow, because tomorrow is already won. And that is the greatest victory of all.

Whatever this week brings, remember that God is already there. We may not know what tomorrow holds, but we know WHO holds tomorrow.

Give Him your worries, trust His timing, and remember that no matter what you're facing, He's already made a way.

Happy Sunday, y'all! I pray this week brings you peace, strength, and a whole lot of reminders that God is still in control. 🖤

As always, feel free to comment below or message me privately with any prayer requests. We'd love to pray for you!

Hey y’all, I’m Amanda!

There are a whole lot of new faces around here, so I figured it was time to introduce myself again. Welcome to The Iron Plank Homestead!

You’ll usually find me in a dress, because pants are basically leg prisons. I talk too much, get sidetracked regularly (thanks, adult ADHD), and occasionally have to try a word twice because my Southern accent got there before the rest of the sentence did.

My husband and I have a big, beautifully blended family of 8 kiddos—10 of us altogether. Between homeschool, sports, church, animals, and kids ranging from almost grown down to a baby, there’s always something going on. If it gets quiet, I should probably go check on somebody.

Around here, we’re going to be filling our pantry one jar at a time, making homemade meals that feed a crowd without breaking the bank, tackling home projects when the budget allows, and learning plenty of things the hard way.

You’ll probably hear kids in the background of my videos. There’s almost certainly an animal running loose somewhere and at least one feral child chasing it. The kitchen is probably a mess, but I may shove everything to one side before I hit record. What happens outside the camera frame is between me and Jesus. 😂

Some recipes turn out so good they’re gone before I can get a picture. Others become a “well, we won’t be doing that again” story. The garden has humbled me more than once, and the unfinished projects are patiently waiting for me to remember them.

I share the wins, the messes, and the things I’m still figuring out because that’s what life actually looks like around here.

If you’ve ever wanted to cook more from scratch, grow a little food, or fill your pantry, but wondered how to fit it into your already busy life, pull up a chair. We’re taking small steps right along with you.

And if you hear “A’right, let’s get cookin’,” you know we’re about to feed this crew something!

A little bit of homesteading.
A little bit of homemaking.
A little bit of chaos.
A lot of Jesus.
A whole lot of real life.

I’m glad you’re here! Tell me a little about yourself in the comments or what brought you to our page. ❤️

And don't forget to check out my very first cookbook!

Fall has arrived (-ish if you’re in Texas)! Made a batch of Pumpkin Cowboy Cookies today.

They’re soft, chewy and full of chocolate chips, pecans and coconut. I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about pumpkin in a cowboy cookie, but these are GOOD!

Definitely making these again.

AHHH! It’s FINALLY HERE!! 🥹

After months of cooking, taking pictures, editing, fixing things, and fighting with Amazon more times than I care to admit, my very first cookbook, Family Dinners, is officially available for purchase!!

This cookbook is full of the meals I make right here in our kitchen for our big, crazy family. Nothing fancy, just good, homemade dinners that bring everyone around the table.

I’m so excited (and a little nervous!) to finally share this with y’all. Thank you to everyone who has followed along, encouraged me, and supported our little homestead. It means more than you know!
If you’ve been waiting to grab a copy, you can officially order yours on Amazon!

And if you do order one, PLEASE tag me when it arrives! I cannot wait to see my cookbook sitting in y’all’s kitchens! 🖤

A few fun facts: there are 40 recipes in this cookbook. Every single recipe has a gluten free option! I’m extremely excited for this part, as a lot of people in my family have gluten sensitivity, and I never want them left out! Also, each meal has a section of things that would be paired well with it for a side. So I’ve already done all of the thinking for you!
