This wine possesses the ability to age for exceptional lengths of time, exhibits complexity and exudes elegance. Displays a deep ruby-red hue. The nose is an inviting blend of cassis, ripe red berries, dark chocolate and to***co, complemented by subtle hints of graphite and delicate herbs – the hallmarks of a refined Bordeaux style blend. The palate is bold and intricately layered, with a well-structured yet harmonious balance of fruit and oak, leading to a rich, dry finish that is distinctly Beeslaar in character. Best paired with grilled ribeye, roast lamb, venison, slow-braised beef and mature hard cheeses.

Guardian Peak is named after the towering peak on Stellenbosch Mountain. It was founded in 1998 by Jean Engelbrecht, who combined his knowledge of international wine markets with his experience at his family wine estate in Stellenbosch to create a range of everyday-drinking, fresh and approachable wines.

A balanced, medium bodied Merlot with mulberry, plum and toast on the nose. Soft tannins enhance the juicy fruit on the palate, with cherries and plums accented by notes of sage and liquorice. Pairs with hearty stews, bolognaise and pizza.

Tendrils of spice add nuance and allure to a nose packed with black berries, hedgerow fruit and some mocha notes. The palate is plush, rounded and pillowy but layered with dark fruitcake flavour, black cherry, baking spice and pencil shavings too. The mouthfeel is complemented by its overall stature and regal refinement. Balanced with seamless integration of oak and ripe, rich fruit with lovely succulence and freshness as well. Complex, supple and silky smooth, the wine is ultimately simply delicious with a superbly long tail.

Celebrate World Gin Day with us! This year, we’re shining a spotlight on the wild spirit of Elephant Gin.

Inspired by Africa, created in Hamburg, Germany, Elephant Gin is a truly an inspirational spirit, which does much more than just win awards. 15% of all profits are donated to fight the scourge of illegal poaching in Kenya and South Africa and each bottle is named after a real elephant. Elephant Gin features an array of African botanicals including Devil's Claw, Lion's Tail, Buchu and Baobab. Notes of piney juniper, earthy spice, floral and herbaceous hints. Orange peel with subtle florals. Warming, ginger-peppery spice and lingering bittersweet citrus. Well suited for a G&T garnished with fresh apple or in a dry martini.

Fat Bastard, a very English expression, perfectly describes the wine’s wonderful colour and round, rich palate. Since 1995, Guy and Thierry have been careful to maintain the quality of the wine with the premium grapes available in the South of France, hence the birth of a South African Fat Bastard range.
It was through a great big discovery (in winemaking terms) that led to the name ‘FAT bastard’. It comes from having left the wine on the less for a lot longer than usual, which allowed it to develop fully and completely. When it was tasted by creators Thierry and Guy, there was no other response than “well, now that’s a FAT bastard!”.
