Single origin or blend?
The first thing to know is that this is not a quality ranking.
Single-origin coffee comes from one identifiable origin, which might mean a particular country, region, farm or producer. That can make it especially interesting when you want to explore how growing conditions, processing and origin show themselves in the cup.
A blend combines coffees selected to work together. A good blend might be built around balance, consistency, body or a particular flavour profile that the roaster wants to reproduce reliably.
A simple way to choose:
Single origin: when you want to explore distinct character and place.
Blend: when you want a balanced, dependable profile you can return to regularly.
Neither wins automatically.
The better question is: what do you enjoy drinking?
