Women Have Been Playing Competitive Golf for Over 200 Years! 🏌️‍♀️

Did you know that women’s competitive golf has a history stretching back more than two centuries?

One of the earliest recorded women’s golf competitions took place in Musselburgh, Scotland, in 1811, when local women competed for prizes on the links.

Since then, women’s golf has grown into a truly global sport, producing extraordinary champions and inspiring generations of young girls to pick up a club and take their place on the fairways. 💚

It’s a fitting fact for this week as Ebotse Links proudly welcomes talented female golfers to our course for the Ekurhuleni Women’s Golf Championships. ⛳🏆

Here’s to the women who have shaped the game - and the next generation making their own history!

🏌️ Finish Your Swing

A great golf shot doesn’t end at impact - it ends with a balanced, complete finish.

One of the most common mistakes golfers make is slowing down or stopping the swing as they make contact with the ball. Instead, focus on swinging smoothly through the ball and allowing your body to rotate naturally towards the target.

A strong finish can help improve your balance, tempo and consistency, giving you greater control over every shot.

The next time you're on the range, try holding your finish for 3 seconds after every swing. If you can hold the position comfortably, chances are your balance and tempo were right.
