Play to your miss, not to the flag.
One of the biggest mistakes amateur golfers make is aiming directly at the pin, especially when trouble surrounds the green. Smart golfers understand their natural shot pattern and plan accordingly.
If you tend to miss right, aim slightly left of the target. If your common miss is left, give yourself room on the right. By playing to your most likely miss, you reduce risk, avoid costly penalties, and give yourself a better chance of hitting more greens in regulation.
