Aqua Resources is pleased to announce the appointment of Phathu Mashele as the new Managing Director of the company. This appointment marks an exciting new chapter for Aqua Resources as the business continues to strengthen its position in the water treatment and resource management sector. Under Phathu's leadership, the company will continue building on its strong foundation, trusted partnerships, and commitment to delivering innovative and sustainable water solutions.

Phathu Mashele is a water industry professional with over a decade of experience in water treatment technologies, strategic partnerships, and business development. A Chemical Engineering graduate from the University of Cape Town, he has developed extensive expertise in Reverse Osmosis (RO), Ultrafiltration (UF), Nanofiltration (NF), and Ion Exchange Resin (IER) technologies.

Prior to joining Aqua Resources as Managing Director, Phathu held leadership roles within the water sector, including at DuPont Water Solutions and Royal HaskoningDHV / Atana, where he focused on advancing water solutions, strengthening strategic partnerships, and driving sustainable growth across the industry.

Aqua Resources would also like to acknowledge and sincerely thank Susan Baker, our outgoing Managing Director, for her exceptional leadership, dedication, and contribution to building the respected brand and business platform that exists today. Her legacy has created a strong foundation for the future growth of the company.

UF vs RO: what's the difference? Two technologies. Two very different problems to solve.

UF (Ultrafiltration) creates a physical membrane barrier that removes bacteria, viruses and suspended solids. No chemicals required, and performance stays consistent regardless of upstream process changes.

RO (Reverse Osmosis) uses pressure-driven separation to strip dissolved salts, heavy metals and fine contaminants. It's essential for desalination, high-purity water production and treating challenging feedwater like acid mine drainage.

Choosing the wrong technology for your application costs time, money and water. Choosing the right one, with the right supplier behind it, is the difference between a plant that performs and one that doesn't.
