Rooted in the family legend of Oupa Joe, The African Spirit Distillery was founded in 2016 and grew from a shared fascination with distillation and flavour into a proudly South African craft distillery. Led by brothers Jan-Harm and Fritz Jr., African Spirit creates a premium rum-led range spanning refined classics and bold, flavour-led spirits. Combining technical expertise with hands-on craftsman

ship, they remain directly involved throughout the process (from selecting raw materials and distilling to developing flavours, bottling and final presentation) ensuring consistent quality and a clear identity in every expression. Completed in 2018, the Boksburg distillery brings production, heritage and hospitality together under one roof. Alongside the working distillery, the space hosts private celebrations and corporate functions, combining tailored food and drinks, signature cocktails and professional service in a distinctive setting.
