🇿🇦 Happy Heritage Day from BOSS
Today we celebrate more than where we come from — we celebrate who we are, what we value, and what we choose to protect for those who come after us.
Our heritage lives in our stories, our traditions, our languages and the people who have shaped our lives. But it also lives in the soil beneath our feet, the trees that give us shade, the flowers that colour our beautiful country, and the wildlife with whom we share it.

May we teach the next generation that caring for our heritage also means caring for nature. Let us leave behind more than memories and traditions — let us leave them a South Africa that is loved, respected and protected.❤️
Our heritage is our story.
Nature is part of that story.
And caring is how we make sure the story continues.
Gelukkige Erfenisdag van almal by BOSS Adult Autism Care Centre. 🇿🇦

Let it grow, let it grow
You can't reap what you don't sow
Plant a seed inside the earth
Just one way to know its worth
Let's celebrate the world's rebirth
We say let it grow

Let it grow, let it grow
Like it did so long ago
Maybe it's just one tiny seed
But it's all we really need
It's time to change the life we lead
Time to let it grow

The wise words of Dr. Seuss(aka) The Lorax.

We are excited to host two special fundraising events in support of our adult autistic care centre. These events will help us continue providing a safe, supportive, and enriching environment for our residents. Every ticket purchased, donation made, and act of support contributes directly to the wellbeing, development, and quality of life of the adults in our care. Together, we can make a meaningful difference while bringing our community together for a worthy cause.

BOSS SAYS THANK YOU BONNIEVALE

In Bonnievale, the saying “it takes a village” truly comes to life through the town’s close-knit and compassionate community. From the caring doctor and supportive pharmacists to the friendly barber and the vegetable ladies who greet everyone with warmth, each person plays a meaningful role in creating a safe and inclusive environment for the autistic residents at Boss. Their positive attitudes, patience, and everyday acts of kindness help build a sense of belonging and dignity, showing that when a community stands together, everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

BOSS SE BAIE DANKIE BONNIEVALE

21/04/2026

Autism awareness plays a vital role in creating understanding, acceptance, and opportunity for individuals on the autism spectrum. When people are informed, they are more likely to respond with patience, empathy, and inclusion rather than misunderstanding or judgement. Awareness initiatives—like open days—help break down stigma and open doors for individuals to explore their abilities, build confidence, and feel seen within their communities. They also educate families, caregivers, and organizations on how to better support diverse needs in meaningful and respectful ways.
Stories like this of the young man who attended an autism open day on 2 April 2024 and is now working within the same organisation highlight the real impact of awareness in action.

At Boss in Bonnievale, not only are our residents well cared for, but our staff are also looked after. The organisation believes in making a difference in the lives of everyone involved.
Some of the caregivers were able, with the help of the Trust, to purchase new bicycles and were given the opportunity to repay the Trust over a period of four months. This initiative not only provides practical support, but also contributes to greater pride and motivation among the staff.
