Eat African with Me x Lungijoe Ceramics x Kwela Brews presents:
A gathering of story, clay/ceramics, and shared nourishment
You're invited to a slow, sensory experience grounded in African tradition, memory, and making. Hosted by three collaborators who each honour different elements of our heritage, this gathering brings together food, clay, and indigenous beer in an intimate celebration of cultural practice and community care.
What to expect:
🌾 Traditional Afrikan Beer Tasting with Kwela Brews
Begin the day with Tumi from Kwela Brews, who will guide you through a tasting of Traditional Afrikan Beer. Together, we’ll explore the ancestral fermentation processes that have nourished generations and continue to carry cultural meaning in many of our communities.
🍲 Potjiekos & Storytelling with Eat African with Me guide;
Phumelele Ndwe will lead us in a shared meal of potjiekos, accompanied by herbal teas and quiet moments of storytelling, reflection, and dance. This is a space to eat together, slow down, and reconnect with the land and one another.
🏺 Clay Workshop with Lungijoe Ceramics
Lungiswa Joe will offer a grounding clay ceramic painting session, drawing inspiration from traditional vessels and everyday Afrikan making. Whether you’ve worked with clay before or not, this is an invitation to connect through your hands.
This is not just an event— it’s a co-created space of remembering, making, and nourishing. Rooted in our respect for African knowledge systems, we come together to honour the slow, quiet work of building community through culture.
