Farm update 🌿
No soundtrack over this one. It would have meant dimming the beautiful sounds of the farm ~ the water, the trailer, the birds… all the little sounds that make this place what it is.
This is the dam we use to water our beloved olive groves, and we’re feeling very grateful for how full it is, despite the little rainy days we had this winter. 💧
October brings those warmer days, creeping back into the 30s, and the trees are groomed and happy. The flowers that covered the groves in September are now slowly turning into tiny little olives.
And here’s a little olive fact for you: only around 2% of the flowers will make it all the way to become an olive. And of those olives, only around 15–20% becomes olive oil.
So when you drizzle that golden oil over your food, you’re looking at a pretty remarkable journey ~
from flower, to fruit, to oil. 🫒
And ours is extracted just once, to make the extra virgin olive oil you know and love.
