we have done it again!!

the way from KwaZulu-Natal - an absolute revelation of wines that command attention with their elegance and exceptional expression of terroir.

From a beautifully barrel-aged Sauvignon Blanc, to a bright Viognier, and a sensational Nebbiolo — each glass told its own story.

This was truly an evening to remember.
And then, a moment of pure personality:
Q: Laurie — what song would represent your Rosé?
A: “You Shook Me All Night Long” — AC/DC
Because sometimes, a wine doesn’t just whisper… it rocks.

which makes it all the more disappointing when the service doesn’t match the standard of the wine.

Some meals go beyond words… and this was one of them.
From the hands of Chef Gordon and his team came a symphony of flavour - sweetcorn and sage soup, indulgent pork belly, and a chocolate tart. Each bite layered, intentional, unforgettable.

All this paired The Deep Purple wine, inspired by Smoke on the Water, added a final note to an already beautiful composition.

Gratitude feels small when you’re spoiled with a culinary experience like this.

A cocktail called Ghost of Uniondale - named after the lingering spirit said to haunt the quiet stretch of road near Uniondale.

A fable of mystery, late-night drives, and something you can’t quite explain.

The theatrics of the cocktail were just as captivating as the drink itself - smoky, dramatic, unforgettable.

Yeah… neither had I.

Until three golden puff pockets landed in front of me — filled with butter chicken, salsa, and mint yogurt.
And oh my soul… what a find.
