Happy Thursday everybody!

All the best things on the menu for next week. You can order via the link in our bio, stories or via our website, www.eggandshoulders.co.za.
Deliveries for most areas will take place on Wednesday 10 June. Orders close on Sunday 7June at 9pm.

First up we’ve got a splendid Ossobuco alla Milanese served with oreganum roast zucchini and a fantastic gremolata to brighten up those rich flavours. You can look forward to our Harissa Roasted Chicken Thighs with Baby Potatoes... those potatoes, I don’t what happens to them while they are being roasted with the lemon and olives and all that other goodness but the transform into these flavour bombs. And last but not least in our fresh goodies section we’ve got Springbok Pies. We brown the meat and veggies off with a bit of bacon and all of the red wine and then it’s just cooked low and slow for like 16 hours the into the pie crust it foes. Very nice indeed.

In our freezer we are restocking the essential Mike’s Penicillin Chicken Soup to keep away any cold weather nasties. We’re whipping up some delish Shepherd’s Pies and I thought I’d be cheeky and add a yummy Almond & Basil Pesto to our pasta sauces section.

For sweeties we’re doing a Mixed Citrus Pavlova with Lemon Curd (and yoghurt & cream and fresh citrus) which will be a delight and for something a little more cosy a Coconut & Lemon Grass Rice Pudding.

Lots & lots of love,
Em, Lloyd & Bridget

Right back to it… I’m a lamb lover so the Slow Cooked Lamb Shoulder & Chickpeas served with harissa roasted carrots is right up my alley. She’s got salt preserved lemons and Ras el Hanout spice and is just fab For something a little fresher but still with gorgeous war flavours we’ve got our Thai Style FIsh Cake’s with Crunchy Peanut Slaw... we make our fish cakes with hake & prawns and we’ve had severeal requests to supply the sweet chilli dipping sauces as it’s own thing... so yes. It’s good. Our Bacon, Butternut & Feta Tart is the last item on onur fresh goodies section... but she’s a bloody delight so that’s cool.

In our freezer we’re making some Creamy Tomato Gnocchi to keep you well nourished and smiling through the mid week slump. We’ve also got my fave Curried Beef Nikuman & Pork Belly Korokke which are stellar as a little snack or a meal.

For sweeties we are making Apricot, Almond & Blonde Chocolate Chip Cookies which are fragrant and delightful. And last but definitely not least a gorgeous Japanese Cheesecake.

Lots & lots of love,
Em, Lloyd & Bridget

Deliveries for most areas will take place on Wednesday 13 May. Orders close on Sunday 10 May at 9pm.

So I’m very excited about the Lamb & Barley Soup cause it’s Lamb & Barley Soup kinda weather but other fun things include our Katsu Aubergine Sticky Rice Bowl... Apart from the aubergine itself being ridiculously delicious cause it’s all smoky & umami from the yakiniku marinade but then it’s got all the pickles and sauces with the sticky rice so it’s a flavour and texture wonderland. Then we have our Lamb Kofta in Tomato Sauce which is served with flat bread and tzatziki which is all saucy, tender and scrumptious as heck. Also brilliant for the cool weather is our Chicken & Mushroom Pie... cozy maxing.

In out freezer we’re whipping up some Melanzane Parmigiana and some perfect Pear & Apple Crumbles to keep for emergency sweet treats.

And in the real sweet treat section we’re making everyone’s favourite Sticky Toffee Pudding and some seriously sinful Peppermint Crisp Tart Eclairs.

Lots & lots of love,
Em, Lloyd & Bridget

We’re making the queen of French stews, Boeuf Bourguignon and she comes with a luscious and indulgent mash. We’re also making one of my fave cold weather dishes, Chicken & Brown Mushroom Stroganoff, she comes with brown rice Seriously though this thing is cray good, my dad used to make it for us every winter and what ever sorcery is involved...(well I know what sorcery is invloved he gave me the recipe) it’s so fricken good. I particularly enjoy it cold the next day so do with that what you will. We’ve also got a too scrumptious to add any bows and ribbons, Leek & Cheddar Tart. Don’t mess with a classic.

For our freezer we are whipping up a Sweet Potato & Chickpea Tagine... she has all the bells and whistles saffron, olives, preserved lemon... she’s hella tasty. And then a Smoky Tomato Soup... flippen iconic, my fave soup. We smoke everything for that gorge flavour and add a touch of cream. She would probably be my death row meal.

For sweets we’re keeping it wholesome and doing a lovely Malva pudding and then cause I like it a lot a Tarta de Santiago, which is a Galician almond cake... light as air, gorgeous mouth feel. She’s a babe.

Lots & lots of love,
Em, Lloyd & Bridget

I thought we would have more time... like maybe some coolish Autumn days but still with plenty of sunshine... where a jersey was optional with your shorts...

Sigh... No, not to worry though, I kicked our cosy items into gear 2 weeks ago and we’ve got lots of lovely things to snuggle up with.

You can order via the link in our bio, stories or via our website, www.eggandshoulders.co.za.
Deliveries for most areas will take place on Wednesday 29 April. Orders close on Sunday 26 April at 9pm.

First up, I’m going mushroom foraging this weekend to see what bounties this rain has brought with it so we’re gonna make a stupendous Mushroom Ragout with Grilled Polenta. The chill in the air activates my maternal German heritage so we’re making Pork Schnitzel & Kartoffelsalat. And the a sneaky Bacon, Brie & Caramelised Onion Tart... cause it seems called for.

In our freezer we’re whipping up some Thai Green Vegetable Curry and a Chickpea & Coconut Curry to keep any sniffles at bay and for the instant cosiness factor.

For sweeties I’m making my fave Carrot Cake, I’m thinking of doing them as actual mini 15cm two tier cakes instead of in the trays this time... if anyone has strong feelings on this yell, I get decision fatigue and value all input. And last but not least we’ve got Lloyd’s incomparable Cheesecake Brownies... which are too decadent and delightful for their own good.

Lots & lots of love,
Em, Lloyd & Bridget

Deliveries for most areas will take place on Wednesday 22 April. Orders close on Sunday 19 April at 9pm. You can order via the link in our bio, stories or via our website www.eggandshoulders.co.za

So obvs first up on the menu, we’ve got our fan fave Spicy Katsu Chicken Bao Buns, 4 in a portion, comes with all the fixings, spicy Sichuan kewpie, togarashi, panko chicken thigh, dill pickles... YUM. Then cause we haven’t made it in a while and cause mangos are about to disappear from our shelves(seasonality babes!) we are doing Chicken Satay & Mango Salad, of course there’s that peanut dipping sauce for the satay and the salad is spicy and dreamy and fresh and fab. Then we’ve got my fave thing to taste test, Spinach & Feta Börek, like spanakopita but ours have got onion seeds and dill and they’re just yummy.

In our freezer we’ve got some fab Thai Red Chicken Curries ready to warm your bellies and meat your protein goals (it’s like only chicken in there...and some ginger and spices and coconut milk) and our first official soup (Mike’s Penicillin Chicken Soup doesn’t count cause its basically medicine) Roasted Cauli Flower Soup, a little creamy, roasty toasty... a brilliant excuse to eat lots of bread.

For sweets, talking of bread, we’ve got Bread & Butter Pudding...lemon zest, raisins, cinnamon custardy goodness. And some classic Chocolate Chip cookies cause they are also like medicine and should be consumed regularly.

Lots & lots of love,
Em, Lloyd & Bridget

Howdy folks!
We’re making some scrumptious things next week. Now that I’m occasionally wearing a jumper in the early mornings I feel like some cosy things might be allowed.

Deliveries for most areas will take place on Wednesday 15 April. Orders close on Sunday 12 April at 9pm. You can order via the link in our bio, stories or via our website www.eggandshoulders.co.za

We’re making a super Pork Belly Ramen. Gorgeous broth made with smoked bones, pork belly slices, pickled cabbage, wood ear mushroom... it’s got it all. My granny’s Pumpkin Bredie is also making an appearance, I used to make this with bony stewing lamb but I’m going boneless now cause... ja it can be a mission to eat. So slow cooked cubes of lamb shoulder, gently spice with a little heat. Served with basmati rice & sambal. And for something for any weather- a Pear & Gorgonzola Tart, scrumptious.

We’re whipping up a big batch of Ratatouille, my fave vegetable stew, for the freezer. Joining that French goodness, is another round of those moreish Lamb Bitterballen.

For sweets we’ve got a smashing Lemon Meringue Pie & a classic Mixed Berry & Apple Crumble.

Lots & lots of love,
Em, Lloyd & Bridget
